  1. Have another photo..... Looking down off our site....
  2. I have a couple on my treehopper. There's a trick somewhere on YouTube showing a bit of rubber tube slid onto the caritool to stop the gate opening and catching branches...
  3. No, that'll be just you!!
  4. Standout stuff from the last couple of weeks for me.... Alt-J, 'An Awesome Wave' just a great album all the way through.... [last year's Mercury Music Prize winner but somehow I missed it...] New Foals album 'Holy Fire', loved the first one, this one is equally as awesome.... Finally, Indians, album is called 'Somewhere Else', nice chilled out stuff....
  5. Yes, I talk to myself a lot....
  6. Here it is.... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/1028-songs-i-am-listening-147.html
  7. I was thinking about that today actually.... where is it...?
  8. 1. Glacial. 2. No, all fetishists can play with it...
  9. Likewise, I think a 3 saw system is better anyway, which is what I run - T [several ]260 & 460... and this suits me fine.
  10. Oh yes, I always forget that.... County town is it not...?
  11. Time and tide and all that....
  12. Aaah.... Truro, done bit there as well.... Some work in Lemon Quay, and round the corner on Newham Road. Did Chris Harrison Law [the old M&S offices] as well, and a bit for Winter Rule [now Francis Clark] before they built their new office building... I like Truro, nice little town
  13. Seemingly neither did the guy editing together the promo video
  14. Stick it to the b******s!
  15. I bought a Sony Vaio laptop around a year ago, [predecessor to this - SVE1711R1E | VAIO E Series Laptop | Technical Specifications | SVE1711R1EB.CEK | SVE1711R1E | Sony , nearly identical spec but I got a 6gb memory, slightly better graphics card & a few other bits and bobs. I love it, I'm very careful to look after it, no crap gets loaded onto it, I use Avast AV, it's always shut down and safely tucked away into it's bag when not being used.... It's got a BluRay player and a nice big screen, great for watching films in bed [not those sort of films...] it's a brilliant machine, never had a problem with it and would recommend one without hesitation. We get through A LOT of laptops in our house but this one is a keeper...
  16. Good luck my friend I don't envy you though!
  17. I particularly liked the bit around 30 seconds in where they pulled the stem over with a rope to release the stuck 460 which he was clinging onto with 1 hand...
  18. See, where you've gone wrong here is when you first got involved with British Gas. I can't express strongly enough how much you should avoid all these big companies like the plague. A friend of a friend works in the top level of the complaints department at BT. She told my mother the other day that 'the thing which is most amazing is people still complain, thinking we can do anything about it'. Service from these firms is a lottery, the best solution is save your money and spend it with a 'proper' company, like you did in the end anyway. They are ALL TERRIBLE. Remember that and you'll have much less stress. Get this sorted and get the hell out. But don't waste any time trying to 'make things right', you'll drive yourself into an early grave, cut your losses and run. I had a problem with BT a couple of years ago, had the ombudsman involved and all sorts, in the end I emailed Michael Rake directly [google him] and he got his own PA to look into it. Between them they still achieved sweet FA. An utter shower of sh***, all if them....
  19. Just for you then, Bodinnick ferry slip in Fowey....
  20. Thanks for your usual high standard of response David, much appreciated, I 'get it' now. I'll continue to follow this with interest. I wonder if such a system could be applied to construction.....
  21. BLIMEY! That was a bargain! I feel robbed! I found the 'eureka' moment was sorting out my rope walker / rope rocket system for my feet, that was my epiphany. Spend a little time getting everything set up and tuning your hitch / tether and you'll enjoy it. I thought it was a frustrating thing to get started on, kept coming across tweaks I wanted to make but it's 'almost perfect' now and I have really bonded with it, as others say, I can't see the point in using doubled rope now (although I will on Saturday to prune some fruit trees I'm sure.....) Be interested to see what you set up for yourself
  22. No chance of chipping, nowhere for a chipper, we're hand digging the foundations and pumping the concrete! You cut it up, we'll do the burning. You'll need to unload your gear kerbside, carry it up to site and park up in the pay & display. Are you far away? If you want to visit site to quote let me know and I'll arrange it with the site manager
  23. The beech & little oak.... Sorry about the crap photos, low sun and iPhone, rubbish....
  24. Have a site in Fowey the client wants some trees out on. There are 3 or 4 tiny self seeded trees (possibly oaks, one certainly is, didn't check the others) which aren't very big, maybe 20 feet, but a couple of them will need a rope on them to straight fell else they'll be down the bank into someone else's house. I'd be wary of spiking them and negative rigging the tops out, the soil is pretty thin over the rock (and they're covered in ivy!) The other one is a nice little beech, getting on for 3' diameter at the base. Straightforward cut and chuck from the top but the larger limbs will need rigging out so that they don't get away. It's a nice tree and a shame to take it out but 'it's blocking their sun' so what can you do..... I'd go down and do it myself for pleasure but I don't think I'll have the time Access is terrible but everything can stay on site, the client wants the timber for firewood and we can burn the brash. If I was doing it I'd do it as a 2 man team and expect to have it done in a day. I want to double check the situation on the beech before doing anything though to make sure it does indeed belong to our client, it's right on the boundary of their land and some scrub.... Everything will be in writing Anyway, get in touch with me if you're interested.
  25. Just put it down to them being morons and ignore them. It's the same crap people come out with no matter what you do - plumber, teacher, architect, personal trainer, florist.... Farmer! The only career I think this sentiment of overpaid and underworked applies to in truth is 'professional' footballer. Everyone else works hard for their money and should probably earn more.....
