  1. He was the ranger , the butcher , baker and candlestick maker oh yeh and postman ..
  2. Agree Butler, 200 is just not the massive leap of faith its made out to be.
  3. I know it is , ive got one.. Its just not the massive leap you think its going to be . Well it certainly wasnt for me anyway and as Matt says the rear handle has its advantages aswell . I just think some folk think its the absolute be all and end all .. its not... well sort of
  4. Swinny that last comment was not aimed at you btw.
  5. The ' voyageurs ' would have just been copying what they learned from the native indians . ELG may have info think he's from New England .
  6. Use to do it for 10pence a metre , dont know what the rate is now. There certainly wasnt the time to do pruning cuts ! It was cut to 2-3 inch pegs roughly but realise that was purely commercial purposes. ( was a great job to take the dog to btw )
  7. Matt , some people will just never understand the engineering principles behind why there is top handles and why there is rear handles . They just say the 200t T/H is best because someone told them so.
  8. One of the soldiers said it was about 10% cause , 90% for each other , that sort of tells you alot .
  9. You dont need anyone on here to tell you whether to take your dog to work or not. Sounds if your minds already made up , thats it .
  10. Alot of happy faces there ELG , big machines not my bag but they were nice photos . Glad you posted some of Boston it looks a really nice place .....Especially if your a big ice hockey fan
  11. You can use glyphosate ( Round-up, Gallup) . The product label gives very clear and easy to follow instructions regarding stem injection . You would have to do it now though before sap rise.
  12. Cracking photos .. Whats with the little swallow it looks ill ?
  13. Job last week classic old greenhouse below big conifer . Client said he didnt care about it... I'm afraid i did and made sure nothing touched it . Matter of honour for me , others may differ .
  14. Agreed treequip , brushcutting aswell , hate seeing wildlife suffer unnecessarily.
  15. It got me really thinking about things that last night . None more so than that Apache helicopter . I have simply seen no other machine capable of such destruction on an epic scale. Should the guy that designed this piece of kit be honoured ? Dishonoured ? As you say as soon as the boys seen it they new it was all over , I'm sure the taliban new this aswell. It descended from the sky like a black cross of death , the silence afterwards was chilling to an outsider but I'm sure music to the ears of our boys. The boy you knew was/is a real character and my heart sank when it was clear this wasnt going to be a happy ending but was overjoyed when at least he was not killed , brave brave boys..
  16. Hello guys , would like to know when youse are starting your leylandii hedges . I was thinking late March but is this still too early ? Thanks alot

Gorgeous looking saw , are orders being taken now ?
  18. Not sure them tree stakes are gonna hold those whips !!
  19. Spot on Shane, the company i worked for ( huge well known national company ) stopped paying into our pension for i think it was 7 years or something of that ilk and didnt tell anyone , nobody had a clue but them until the whistle was blown on them. Union funded pension lawyers in to sort out the mess , how on earth could a lone employee fund any investigation or misdimeanor .. simple they couldnt.
  20. Bloody Hell !! An hours violent contact with the Taliban ... Their rocket launchers fall short... Big mistake, Apache helicopter comes in .... All becomes silent. Despite this the young men being lost is depressing.. how on earth these guys keep their spirit is beyond me.. Thats why they are there and I'm here i suppose.
  21. A good company pension scheme was them matching your contributions so a company doubling this seems very generous to me almost uncannily. It can get very messy a company pension scheme because some companies can be very dishonest and not tell you of any changes they make to the point of blatant midnight robbery . It can get very complicated to work out what you are actually due and it takes the services of a special pensions lawyer to make sure you get what you are due. I would be very sceptical now.
