  1. Filter the fuel through a funnel when filling the tank, saves so much trouble. More than half the breakdowns I get called out to are fuel related.
  2. Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated.
  3. Where's the best place to get parts for Tirfor winch and what parts generally need replacing? Any ideas on cost to overhaul said winch? Thanks.
  4. Yeah it is, you need to see it to believe it, still can't get around a lot of minor roads today.
  5. Few more pics from the last few days, not looking foward to tomoro.
  6. Just had message from Lands End,some nasty weather heading this way. Spent most of last night helping friends clean their houses out. Never seen it this bad
  7. Wet,very wet. Been up to my nuts in water all day,
  8. VW T4 SWB roughly 4ft from back edge of side door to back doors. Just to clarify, are you looking at T4 T5 or T28 vans?
  9. Yep I've got a 2.5tdi T4 SWB, I look after half a dozen for people,I'l try to have measure in the morning.the LWB Is roughly 12" longer but the wheel base is also longer. There are a few 4wd versions about but not good on fuel. If you get a 2.5tdi get the timing belts and water pump done regardless of service history (biggest week point) clutches do 110k. Good van though had mine 5years very happy with it.
  10. I find using a compressor and air line to gently blow the fine dirt out that causes them to stick works well.
  11. Not a holster but I've screwed a eyelet into end of the handle which I can hang onto a petzl carritool on my belt.
  12. I assume you've already done a bit of climbing?? Best thing to do if possible is try before you buy,I tried about every harness before deciding.

  14. A couple members have PM'd me interested in doing a climb, feel free to use this thread to share any info, depends how many people you want to turn up?Weekends seem to be the easiest choice for dates, I'd be happy to travel to north Devon if it suits and I'll still look into organising a climb in mid Devon as well if anyone is interested.
  15. Never seems to happen down our way much. Not sure on how to orginise this sort of thing so any input from those who have before would help. Since passing my cs38 back in May I've not had chance to climb with anyone else,be nice to catch up with a few climbers to swap ideas, see some different techniques etc.Can prob sort a venue in mid Devon area depending on numbers or can meet others at a location to suit. Anyone???
  16. Had a Peugeot 406 in workshop a few months ago with the filter blocked, previous owner was only doing about 5miles a day in it,the regeneration process involved plugging into the car with our diagnostics equipment which then controls the engine speed, revs it flat out for 15mins or so to heat up and clear the filter, you could do the same by using your foot on the accelerator pedal to be honest. It also had a seperate additive which needed to be re filled and the ecu reset,it counted the amount of times the fuel filler cap had been opened to calculate how much additive was left, bit of a daft idea.
  17. There's a company in Cullompton Devon called Partimex,I'm sure I've seen galvanised chassis outside before, their website doesn't help much but might be worth contacting them.

  19. Thanks for that logbaron,it is very good offer, one which I will take into consideration. I've got a few local people to speak to over the weekend before making any decisions. Havnt had time to reply to everyone yet so anyone who hasnt had one yet I will be in touch. Thanks to all
  20. 49sp? Looks very similar to the one under my bench.sorry can't help with coil though. Let us know if you find a parts supplier coz I need a fuel cap for mine.
  21. Looking for nets/bags of kindling, quantity dependent on bag size.If any one on here can help PM me details and price. Can collect. Thank you.
  22. Thats the best description of Weston ever lol.
  23. I use to race every week, still ride when I get time and the od local meeting to keep me speed up. Once you've done one race you'll never want to stop. Lining up behind the start gate with 39 other racers is the best feeling ever.
  24. Brilliant service as always, ordered Thurs delivered Friday.
  25. Was gonna ask the same thing this morning but you beet me to it! Got a few pics from our woods yesterday, some of the trees have lost nearly all leaves now though. Excuse poor picture quality.
