  1. So here we go again. In the morning 2 of us are setting of at 0630 to ride the 32 miles to Newcastle racecourse to take part in the Newcastle Stampede, a 10km muddy obstacle course, then riding the 32 miles back. Id like to say its going to be fun, but im not so sure. I know times are hard for everyone and the support for my last sponsored event was gratefully received, but if you guys and galls could put a couple of quid down again then the pain and misery will have been worth it. 3. Survived the day. I wasn't bullied or anything!
  4. Thanks Yorkshireman, I think I'm gonna need it!
  5. Went to college. East Durham College, Houghall campus.
  6. I finished my level 3 in Arb and Forestry this year and was going to continue on level 4. Due to some delays at the college I started looking further afield for courses in a wider range of related subjects. So as it is I start a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science tomorrow at Teesside University and I am crapping myself!! 3 years ago all I did was drive buses. Bit of a change!
  7. Have you ever tried the rollers? Looks like a more natural training ride but I'd just fall off all the time!
  8. That's awesome!! I've been in the gym at work today. First time for ages. 20 mins on the bike, 20 on the rower machine and 100 sit ups.
  9. The article in the link reckons 200.

  13. 80 miles on Saturday with full panniers over some stupid hills! 7 mile run on Sunday. Was supposed to be 13 across Morecombe bay but I failed. Leg was sore from the ride and my energy levels were rock bottom. Then 80 miles on Monday over some more stupid hills! Was going to do some canoeing round Windermere too but didn't have time to get the 2star certificated the hire shop required. All in all a pretty good weekend.
  14. I'm afraid I've succumbed to too much Jim Beam black which was on offer at Sainsberry! All Change this weekend. 4 days of biking, running and WILD camping!! Can't wait.
  15. The 40 year old was part of another incident when a child was knocked off his bike with serious injuries.
  16. Nothing we can do about it now. Happens all too often. Young lads in fast cars who don't know how to drive. A lad I went through school with died when we were 17. Still sickens me now!
  17. Friends killed in car crash horror (From The Northern Echo) One of the young lads, Josh, had just joined our TA unit and had also been accepted into the Regular Army. A promising bright future snuffed out. My thoughts are with their families and friends. Very sad times.
  18. Used to go to Hamsterley every night years ago. It's only round the corner. Gonna try again soon because I've recently done a couple of the trails in Grizedale and I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it. Bikes a bit tired now though....Dear Father Christmas.....
  19. Just bought a dog from the local blacksmith. As soon as I got it home he made a bolt for the door.
  20. Hoooooo hoooooooo just searched for the Russian thing! BEJESUS! Dear Father Christmas...
