  2. Seems a bit harsh donating money them moaning about it 9 months later. Big j seems a decent hard working fella who never once begged for money of anyone it was people been generous and helping a fellow arbtalker out who was in hard times. So what if he's doing better now thats how work goes it can go from bad to **** to great in the blink of a eye. Glad your business is on the up big j I'm shure you have worked bloody hard this last 9 months to turn things around and Realy pleased the dogs doing well Jim
  3. Very good question il let you know at the end of winter first year we have done billets in a large scale. We processed all small stuff into bags for early winter and are will be starting to convert billets into logs in the next few weeks. Billets are the way forward for oversize timber. Dries fast. Uses less space to store than bags. Gives the option of doing different size logs for different customers. We trailed some last year maybe about 100 bags worth and were more than happy with the results. Some people will say you handle them too much but it suits our system. Jim
  4. Mild in east yorkshire if not a touch damp. Log burners on but only to dry my boots.
  5. My maths may be wrong but if you have a stack of billets that are a metre wide by 2.4m high you will be able to store 2.4 cube every metre. We have three hundred cubic metres in billets at the minute and it takes no room up compared to what 300 bags would. Our stack is 150 m long around 3 sides of our compound just over 2 m high.
  6. Dont the express run that story every year? Lol
  7. As i understand it reds fine for farm fencing white for domestic work or even equine only based clients. Hard to police tho. If they stop you and ask were your going you can just give name of a farmer you work for
  8. Old boys round here call them tote bags aswell ur not on ur own
  9. 600 cube john this year got 200 bags strait of processor stored outside all summer and then stacked under sheds mid september. And 400 in billets. Sheeted down outside. Just keep topping sheds up as needed. Billets Are a great way of dealing with oversize stuff and brilliant for storing alot of wood in a small space. Obviously more handling but i find the positives out weigh the negatives
  10. How many do you hope to clear in a season. We did 550 august to august last year. Enough stock for 600 this year. All cut split dried and ready to sell.
  11. Can u not put bag next to bench on a stand and just toss them in as u cut them thats how we do it
  12. Split it as soon as you can and leave it to dry
  13. 60 cube in october delivered another ten booked for this week. Good start just hope it continues
  14. All the rytech stuff is good marks a top bloke too Carnt recommend them enough. We have processor and sixteen tonne splitter. And my mate has a sawbench all good gear
  15. Use a sight level for garden fencing. Use it to check the ground levels and to set end posts level to each other. Also use it to work out heights of concrete posts before they go in the hole if they need a trim. Hard to explain but id b lost without mine. I use one of these. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=400644996377 Good if you have a helper useless on your own but cheaper than a laser level.

  23. Used one last week local builders merchant have put one on hire fleet. Let me try it out for a day must say reasonably impresed definatly as good as my paslode. Drives home 50 mm nails easy tried some 90mm nails and seemed to be fine only tried about ten though. On rapid fire realy going for it killed a battery in half a hr there quick to charge up though. No probs with frozen or stale gas looks a winner to me just going to wait for a while and see how theres copes with prolonged use before i bite the bullet Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
