  1. I was being a fanny by comparison
  2. A bit like "oh, well he'll not be doing any more work today 🙄"
  3. Are you asking me? There's plenty of climbers rigging without Cs 41 and pruning without Cs 40 too
  4. What if the groundy has more experience being a groundy than the climber? I rarely tell my groundies how many wraps. They know that end of the bollard way better than I do. As I said, the climber was way in the wrong, but the groundy could've made it safer for himself, provided he was experienced enough.
  5. That would depend on his experience.
  6. Yeah man I've been there. Better positioning would've kept him out of harms way though.
  7. Could've let go, or positioned himself better, but mostly agree. Terrible decision making on the climbers behalf.
  8. I love the total lack of concern in the climbers voice.
  9. "What pigeon" 🙄
  10. Komet Miller Reglex Machoire Wire Core Flipline SKYLANDEQUIPMENT.COM Easy to use, reinforced wire core work positioning lanyard with stainless steel jaw type length... Skyland are out of stock but might be able to get you one in, if your pockets are deep enough
  11. Cranes typically aren't LOLERed sufficiently for lifting people. A MEWP is. As I said in my previous post. Some manufacturers guidelines will allow this if the machine has an appropriate attachment point for a rope (not just over the basket rail) but most aren't designed for this purpose. With the machine I use the SWL is constant throughout the outreach of the machine.
  12. It would depend on the machine, Ben. Most manufacturers would not recommend it, however I do regular work with one that is lolered for lifting. You remove the basket and put a hook on the jib, and it's rated to lift around 250kgs. It's a 25m mewp with up to 12m outreach I think. He's pretty close to you I think, CV23 postcode Drop me a message if you want to know more m
  13. They're both prats to be honest. I would've bet on Paul though. Tommy fumbles has fought nobody's and anyone who can knock Tyronne Woodleigh out and beat Anderson Silva on points is no joke.
  14. @Simon Rotheram once told me it gets easier after the first three years... It didn't feel that helpful at the time 🤣
  15. That's the date you went off of cock?
  16. I remember a time when @Steve Bullman would welcome every new member he could!
  17. You only have to work with retards occasionally? Lucky. One in particular untied my base tie without my asking.
  18. Don't get butt hurt Stevie, you went down the same derail. I have a point and you know it.
  19. Generally speaking most people won't be working on a base tie on any dismantles, rigging works etc. Most will use a base tie for access and then swap over to a canopy anchor for the work, so it's fairly pointless for most real world applications. Also a working base anchor system is usually a bit more involved than just a hitch.
  20. A good compromise is to tie an alpine butterfly above the base anchor, that way if the situation called for it you could clip another line into the butterfly and cut the line beneath it
  21. Had a 2001 mazda b2500 until recently. Great truck. Sold it to a mate and its still going strong
  22. It's gotta be £200 at a minimum. £300 if you don't care if you get it or not
  23. So today I got to revisit an old friend: My first encounter was a year ago when I damn near cut through her in a cavity in the underside of an ash branch in a nature reserve. Must've missed her by less than an inch. She flew off straight away and I rigged and screwed the branch back into place with para cord and my fence mending kit. Came back with a mewp today to carry on monolithing the ash which was over the main pedestrian entrance to the reserve and to my surprise she'd returned to her roost! Must've done a pretty decent job reinstating the habitat. A further stay of execution for the tree.
  24. The two aren't mutually exclusive...
  25. It's "woe is me". If there's one thing worse than an argumentative Internet troll, it's an illiterate one.
