  4. Hi Where about are you located? thanks
  5. Could try a letter box cut then shave away one side and see if you can roll it off the tree using a felling lever? (if its not stuck tight) if not try the winch.
  6. Hi I am looking for some Arb insurance and wondering if anyone on here can recommend a good company? I will be looking for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity to carry out Tree works and also Tree Surveys and LOLER Inspections. I have no idea what this sort of Insurance costs etc so any info would be appreciated. Thanks Ross
  7. well i will have to see how i get on with the PTI first and then take it from there. You have defiantly given me something to think about and obviously id appreciate you keeping me in mind for anything you might have that would be great. I haven't done bs5837 or QTRA but do you think that is something that would benefit me going forward?
  8. I have pretty much all practical NPTC tickets. Also did my LOLER inspection a few years back and also went for my Tech cert L3 a few years ago and passed the law and management parts but wasn't successful with the biology exam. Then not long after they scrapped the L3 so that was that. (So unfortunately did obtain the full qual) I will be sorting my own Tax and have to ask the questions about the insurance etc. I'm based East mids (Ashby)but travel the Birmingham at the moment most days so will cove a wide area.
  9. I have been a tree surgeon for almost 20 years now and I am currently studying to do my PTI course and hoping to "branch" out (excuse the pun) to start a new path and move away from climbing eventually. If I am successful with the PTI I have some worked lined up through someone I know. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who can tell me what the going day rate is for carrying out Tree Inspections / surveys? (just a ball park figure) so I know what to go in with once I pass. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Ross
  10. That's brilliant thank you. I have been studying as much as I can but not sure how far to go with it. Thats put my mind at ease abit. Thanks again 👍
  11. Hi Just wondering if anyone out there knows what sort of Questions are asked in the test part of the P.T.I Course? Would be even better if anyone has an old test paper they are willing to share??? Any info would be grateful. Thanks Ross

  14. Thank you! Appreciate that. I have started going through some of the above so I'm on the right track at least. Just don't want to turn up to the course and feel out of my depth. Thanks again
  15. Hi I am currently studying to sit the PTI course in March. Just wondering if anyone can help me by giving any information as to what sort of areas would be best for me to revise or look at before going on the course? I have a few books but don't know where to start 🤦🏼‍♂️ I know there are 20 questions as part of the exam and any info as to what to expect from the questions would be beneficial too. Many thanks Ross 😊
