  1. Just as an update, it was a spider UJ. My mate has replaced it this morning and the vibration has gone - happy days! Thanks for all the advice.
  2. Thanks CTS How big a job is it to replace the bearing? Or once it's started to go, does it take the main shaft with it? Ta
  3. Thanks all. TDC, I'd appreciate seeing a photo.
  4. Mine's an 07 I'll have a wiggle underneath - ta.
  5. 2.5 Thunder There's a slight but noticeable vibration in 3rd and 4th gear at between 1,500 and 2,000 revs. Not noticeable in any other gear at the same rev range. Worse when towing. It's not too bad, but I'd quite like to get it sorted. The truck has done 96,000 miles and is used infrequently. Any ideas?
  6. Mild and windy in Perthshire. Almost too warm for the stove.
  7. Laddomat (or esse clone) with the correct stat in the valve plus a flue stat to control the pump is definitely worth a try. I have a 18 kW Stratford boiler stove heating a 330l store and I can boil it from room temp in less than 3 hrs. Good luck.
  8. Just to update this thread. In the end I've gone for a Brenderup 1205S. I've managed to pick a lightly used one with extended sides off Gumtree for £375 Like this - 1205S STEEL TRAILER 750KG 203x116 The main reason I've chosen this is that it will store on its end when not in use and so take up a lot less space. Pick it up later this week :-)
  9. What Jules said above. Trying to stop someone using your patented design without your permission is where the real costs are - and some Chinese aren't going to respect it anyway. You really need to be able to get to market quickly or disguise/hide your technology, which isn't going to work with a processor.
  10. length, diameter, state of bark, orientation to wind, level of exposure, covered or uncovered, time of year it was felled, how long ago it was felled, ambient air temperature, ambient humidity are all variables to consider. Obviously some are related to each other. Luckily there are some fairly simple principles to increasing drying time so you don't need to worry about absolutes too much.
  11. Swinney, if you weren't 250 miles away I'd have that off you.
  12. The P7e looks good, but is nearer the £1k mark with mesh sides. I suppose it'll have a better resale value though.
  13. I'm looking for a 6x4 trailer with mesh sides. This Apache - Apache 6x4 Trailer Cage Caged Mesh Car Van General Utility H/Duty Flat packed | eBay and This Paxton - New Paxton Galvanised Steel Caged Cage Mesh 6X4 Car Van Utility Domestic Trailer | eBay are up for consideration. *I think* I've seen some negative comments about Paxton trailers on here, but I can't remember the details. Which to go for or any others to consider? Ta
  14. I love the bit when the put the GoPro through
  15. Thanks guys - sounds like i'm in the right ball park. I'll see if I can find some vallorbe files. Ta
  16. Oregon
  17. Just pondering how long a file for sharpening a chain should last. I've done a couple of touch up on an 18" bar on a MS260 and feels as if the file is ready for the bin. Does this sound about right? I've bought a bulk box, so I'm not too concerned, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Ta
  18. As per the advice in your other thread, you need to check that the land use covers the operations you are carrying out - speak to your local planning dept and be prepared to have to make an application for a change of use.
  19. In Preston?
  20. REAR HANDLE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY FoR Stihl Ms341 MS361 FREE FUEL PIPE FILTER New | eBay
  21. Cheers guys. My fears have been confirmed. I'll get onto them to get it inspected properly. It's a big old tree though and it'd be a shame if it had to come down.
  22. The stem is about 1m in diameter, the tree is about 25m tall. There appears to be a couple of patches, one at the bottom of the stem and another smaller patch about 2.5 m above it. Is it serious? It’s not my tree, but my caravan is parked next to it and will be until October. Whaddya think?
  23. You know what they say about any publicity....
  24. Mechanix Utility Gloves when I'm not using the saw HARD-WEARING MECHANIX CONSTRUCTION GRADE CG UTILITY GLOVES - BLACK/TAN | eBay
