  1. I got a `95 WRX Turbo, shes off the road at the mo but goes like stink, 280bhp!
  2. I think you will find that they are 80% FWD, not sure how it will cope with having no FWD!
  3. Small claims would be the way forward, if you tell them that you are going to start a case against them then they will more than likely pay up! Also your comments about the builder still owning the bricks after building a wall on clients property if they dont pay is untrue, as soon as any materals cross their threshold then they legally belong to them, weither they pay of not! Completly wrong but infortunatly most of the rights are on the side of the customer:(
  4. Everyone gotta start somewhere!
  5. Blondie on the right gets my vote, anyone gonna start a voting pole!? LOL!
  6. I have been thinking of doing something simmilar as there seems to be a demand for logs for open fires/woodburners these days! Looks like it might be a good sideline...........
  7. Hiya, I was just wondering what tickets are required to be a groundie, just general helping out, feeding chippers, etc,etc........ Regards, Anthony.
  8. You might want to be carefull with regards to not having a waste carriers liscence, it doesnt matter if you intend to use the "waste" for yourself, if you are transporting waste in exchange for monetery gain then you must have a liscence!!! Not saying I agree with this but as far as I can see thats the law!

  10. Hiya, Im looking for an electric chain sharpener that wont break the bank, cheap as possible. I know that you get what you pay for but Im not a full time chainsaw user so just want something to keep my chain sharp, any suggestions?? Regards, Anthony.
  11. Nearly £1000 for the quad trailer!!?? I could knock one up for much less than that!!!!
  12. Errr.....maybe for dragging trees/logs...................
  13. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
  14. Hi mate, There is one on ebay but its in cheshire! forestry | eBay Regards, Anthony.
  15. Yeah, thats what I was thinking of, its got driven wheels and the tines are on the back of the machine. The ones with the tines on the front and no wheels look like an accident waiting to happen!
  16. Glad its all worked out ok for you mate, Im gonna try and quit now after reading your comments, kinda made me stop and think about what im doing!
  17. Its a big enough garden to not want to do it by hand! Is that a Howard? I have been looking at the honda engined ones you can hire from Jewsons, etc.
  18. Hi, I might have a job coming up to clear an overgrown garden, I will weedkill then strim the weeds/brambles once the weedkiller has done its magic. I would then like to rotovate the soil so it has a nice "clean" look once I have done the job. Would a large rotovator (driven model) be up to the job of breaking up the ground? I dont really want to dig it all by hand! Any advice would be appreciated! Regards, Anthony.
  19. Its horses for courses, and depends on how much you wanna spend! I recently had a job to do for the local council clearing a very overgrown garden. The only access was through a bakery (complete with customers) up 2 flights of stairs, across a fire escape, over a flat roof and finally down a 1M drop! The machine I ended up getting had to be small and light enough for me to man handle through all of the above obsticals. I eventually got a 5hp Bolens chipper/shredder off Ebay for £175. It will chip upto 2" diameter and as most of the trees and undergrowth I had to remove was mostly under 2" then it was purfect! Anything bigger than 2" I burn on a woodburner anyway! 90% of the materal was chipped on site and left where it fell and I only had to remove an armfull of the bigger logs. Ok, it took a while to chip and shread as its only a small machine but it did the job and saved me a load of work! You dont always need a machine that costs £1000`s!!!!!!!!
  20. Where abouts are you????
  21. Be sure to let us know when they will be at lands end, I will try and pop down!

    Worried

Point taken on the battery isolation switch, however these are fitted to alot of Plant including our 13T excavator and it always starts no probs!
  23. No worries mate, good luck!
  24. Good on ya mate, take it one step at a time! Im kinda in the same boat, got made redundant last year so set up my own property maintenance business, its going well, I aim for the jobs that bigger firms arnt interested in but they are missing a trick as alot of "small" jobs have a higher profit margin than the big jobs! Maybe something to consider? There is also a Lantra chainsaw course for property maintenance personell, its cheaper than a CS30 and allows you to fell small trees up to 200mm in diameter, that size of tree would prob not need to be climbed and to be honest most of the trees I deal with are smaller than that anyway, also if your working on your own would you really want to deal with trees much bigger than that? Just a thought as you can make some half decent money and still get to play with the "Toys"! Regards, Anthony.
