  2. Thanks for the replies:)
  3. Hi, Im looking at maybe buying a Bearcat Model 80 chipper/shredder, anyone got any views on them? Aparently you can fit a blower to them to shoot chip into a pickup?? Regards, Anthony.
  4. Hiya, Just wondering what the going day rate is for a subbie groundie, with own kit/saws? I know being self employed has overheads etc but just looking for a ballpark figure.....
  5. Im glad this post came up, Im about to do my CS30 and thought it might be difficult to pass but this thread has put my mind to rest! No disrespect but if this guy can pass CS30 and not know the differance between bar oil and 2 stroke mix then the CS30 should be a breeze! lol!
  6. Good advice but cut the guy some slack! Pricing jobs is always hard when your starting out and I respect any 16 yr old that has the initative to get off his arse and do an honest job, its a rare thing these days!
  7. Wow, I didnt know you could do that, sorry!
  8. Hi, I was browsing the Clarke Forest site and came across the Oregon Powersharp system, its supposed to fully sharpen your chain in under a minute! Seems too good to be true, anyone tried one? PowerSharp Chainsaw Bars | Clark Forest : Chainsaw Anthony.
  9. I completly agree with their policy, its just a pain in my situation as Im not yet a "Pro user", I would like some of their products such as some PPE to do my training ( I already have a Stihl saw that I bought from Cornwall Farmers) so its abit of a catch 22 situation for me! Its ok though, aparrently they have a satalite agent in Redruth so I can get the stuff from him face to face.
  10. What have i started! lol!
  11. Awesome!

  13. Love the name! Shame your abit far away, im looking to give some free labour out soon as im looking to get into the Arb world and any experience I can get is gd!
  14. Hi Nick, Thanks for the reply, it seems that they have someone in Redruth that can act as a middle man. Im only after some PPE at the mo so looks like its sorted! Where abouts are you?
  15. Cheers for the replies, I let it go in the end!
  16. Hi, Im looking to get my CS30/31 soon and will need some gear (PPE, etc) Being a Stihl man I would like to buy some of their stuff, I have looked on FR Jones`s website and they are very good on price but I cannot order from them as im not a "Known Customer". I understand that this is Stihl`s policy and I think its a good idea but makes ordering stuff abit tricky! Does anyone down here in Cornwall have any dealings with FR Jones, if so could I use you as the delivery address?? Regards, Anthony.
  17. Think I have seen that, it keeps the logs from falling away so you can split them quicker?
  18. It sure is, or slowly killing me, depends on how you look at it!
  19. Cheers for the replies! 8" sounds good, I dont have to worry about my log splitter as I dont have one, its all split with a maul!
  20. Great video, what was the music? Oh and love the way the vid ends, time for a smoko!
  21. Hi, Im currently cutting and spliting logs to sell as my main business (property maintenance & carpentry) is a little slow at the mo. Was just wondering what the most popular length of log is? I dont want to cut them too long and put my potential customers off as they might not fit in their woodburner/fire! Regards, Anthony.
  22. Hiya, Does anyone have experience of Oregon chippers? I have been offered a road towable Kohler engined one at a good price, was just wondering if anyone had heard of them and if spares might be an issue? Regards, Anthony.
  23. Mixed opinions then! Just thought I would ask as there is a dealer near me that sells them and they are half the price of a stihl chain!
  24. Hiya, Has anyone tried or got any comments on "Sarp" chainsaw chains? Regards, Anthony.
  25. I have thought about doing this but using non treated palletwood instead of "proper" wood, I was thinking this would prob work as the palletwood is already split one way and is quite soft.
