Sounds interesting mate! Where did you get the sprocket and what size bar?

To be honest it's prob running ok now, it's unfair on the saw to compare it to an ms260!
  3. I'm out of this convention.......only going one way!
  4. Do you have your climbing tickets?
  5. Looks good mate!
  6. I was looking at these the other day, for the price they look ok. May be issues with build quality but at the end of the day it's an engine (chonda type but not as bad as people think) a hydraulic pump, some hoses, valve block and a ram so not much to go wrong and if so easily replaced from a hydraulic parts suppliers. Things can be 're-tightened or re-welded if needed so I think it's worth a punt. It may well need some repairs etc but for the price you can take that on the chin! Mount it on a cheap small trailer axle and you have a cheap towable splitter. May not be the quality of the more expensive brands but if money is an issue then could well be worth a punt!

Meant to say 10" or 8" bar!

I have a cs280 wes and overall I'm pleased with it! It does cut very slow compared to my ms260 but to be fair it's a different league of saw. Put a smaller bar on mine, think it's a 10" or 12" from chains direct. Makes it cut a little faster. Still have an issue of it not wanting to "rev out" though, despite being tuned by an echo dealer, it always feels like it needs to clear it's throat! Overall a nice light saw and ideal for the smaller stuff, I climb with mine and it's fine if you consider it to be a powered silky!
  9. if anyone drops out give me a shout!
  10. Hi all! Looking for any groundie work in Cornwall, I have cs30/31, own saw and ppe etc. If I can be of use to anyone please feel free to contact me! I run my own business and have sub contracted to a number of local firms in the past but due to my truck breaking down I am now looking for some work to help me get back on my feet! Thanks for reading!
  11. Oregon yukon's are awesome! Nice and light and cheap too!
  12. DD or TW (Tenth Wonder) are the preferred hammocks for us bushcraft types, combine it with a tarp and decent underquilt (can make one ureself out of old sleeping bag/duvet) and your sorted!
  13. Cheers!
  14. Cheers guys! I'm a member of landscape juice but ain't been on there for ages so have re-regestered!
  15. Hiya, I just bought an Etesia, was advertised as a phts but turned out to be the phtb, which has variable speed and blade disengagement! Result! The only prob is that there is a ratchet type of mechanism that holds the speed selector lever in place and its broken, the mower still works but it's on the slowest setting. Does anyone know where I could get a new speed selector mechanism? It's just a small plastic piece that's broken inside, I can hopefully get a new one if I can find a decent exploded diagram and a decent spares dealer! Can anyone help!?
  16. Hiya, I knew it was inevitable, my Wolf 22sp mower has finally died a death! Intermittent starting probs was the last straw, so I'm in the market for a new (second-hand) mower. I can't justify buying a brand new one as I would only be able to afford something domestic so I'm thinking on spending a little more on a second-hand quality mower. I have been thinking about an Etesia as have heard good things about them and their ability to cut and collect wet grass. Does anyone have any views about them? I'm looking at a second-hand one locally for £350. Not sure of year but doesn't look too beaten up, 5.5hp honda (bonus!). Good buy or not?
  17. Fair one mate! I assumed that you wanted it for commercial use!
  18. Why do you not want a self propelled mower?
  19. Cool, I got the attack on standby! Thanks mate!
  20. Cheers mate! I was thinking of digging around it and then winching it out, then digging any remaining visible roots. No way I'm putting a saw near the dirt, had a job lastweek removing a massive root ball that had to be cut to move so I've had enough of blunt chains!
  21. Hiya, Might have a job to remove some unwanted pampas grass, what is the best way to do it? Apparently burning just makes it come back thicker!?
  22. Wow, the west Briton on a national website! Lol!
  23. The cans almost look the same the Stihl petrol cans that cost around £10!
  24. Like the idea of this but it's still quite expensive, although the can must be worth well over a fiver on its own!
