  1. On the front is the oil tank and a weight frame. The crane is working on a PTO driven oil pump
  2. I don't know how I ever managed without mine ! It serves me well and is very useful in the yard, yes sometimes in tight places in a wood it may be a little easer if it were mounted on the trailer. but as other has said I tuck it up behind the tractor.
  3. Sales are going ok , we are on about 25 cube a week . It keeps the wife busy ! we did 50% more this time between April and August compared to the previous year
  4. I was always told 3rd class riding was better than 1st class walking !
  5. Hi I have done it on a vintage tractor, There are several people who have done it with steam we have an engine but at 4mph I don't think I will be doing it with ours !!! Do you mind me asking what you have ? We only live about 2 miles off the route if you are using the A49 through Cheshire and into Shropshire just outside of Whitchurch would be willing to help you any way I could,Cheers Neil
  6. No that is John Garman from Leintwardine
  7. Thats not my user name but it could be me taken by someone else, I have had a quick look but cant find anyone by that name on youtube do you have a link to it ?
  8. I looked into this some time ago and unless things have changed you can tow 2 empty trailers or 1 loaded . But you can also tow 1 loaded trailer and an agricultural trailer appliance As my matador was taxed agricultural the rack saw classed as a agricultural trailed appliance I could tow a loaded trailer
  9. We are doing around 30 cubic metres a week and between April and August this year we sold double that of previous years, problem is we have sold more than expected and although we have about 300 ton to go at the dry stuff is running out and it's all we can do to keep up so impossible to put any in stock to dry !!
  10. Have sent you a PM Nick. I would be interested in a price to del our way if it's not to far and I don't live in dream land ! Will also pay on delivery. Cheers Neil
  11. I have just paid £57 all in del to the yard 50/50 oak and ash
  12. So put the price up a little to compensate for the stretch ! the only benefit I can see is you could stack boxes higher that bags but at £50 a go that's going to take some making back.In my opinion First year I have tried vented bags as well as loose loads bags are the way to go for me
  13. This is mine 47kg gas bottle looking a bit cold though
  14. £110 or not worth the bother
  15. I sell mine for clog soles
  16. It's soft wood and fairly dry but this was 5,1/2 tons over the weigh bridge
  17. Now I could make use of that
  18. Not long ago in the North wales and Cheshire borders area the game was one saw made up to show you how good it was and the rest all boxed up !!! They demonstrate the saw offer it to you if you say yes then you can have the one they just used or BETTER still have a boxed one !!!! you pay they leave you open the box and get out the bricks !! you just bought
  19. 19 years ago we fitted a clearview stove with wrap around boiler, it is running 5 radiators and doing the hot water. It is in 24/7 all winter burning only wood a builders barrow with as much as you can get on it will last about 24 hrs. we also had the flat top one so there is a lot of one pot cooking that looks after it's self all day long. It in no problem to keep it in but by shutting it down it runs a bit cooler than is good for the chimney so it has to be swept twice a winter
  20. About this much unless as said you can get it above the head board
  21. I have cut hundreds down with a rack saw, beware of broken climbing spike tips !!!!!!!!!! they are very hard
  22. I have no 3 phase and have looked at the cost of getting it to our property, £1000 a pole and 9 poles to get here !!! I have now bought an ex army 3phase and single phase 27.5 kva set with less than 200 hrs on the clock. It will be up and running for less than £1000. We are wood fired with central heating and hot water all off the wood burner, so no problems !!
  23. Sorry not a sun rise but a sun set over this years Great Dorset Steam Fair
  24. I try to get all of ours to below 20% but to do so we have to sit on around 500 + ton of stock to get the rotation ! we keep between 3/500 ton out of the way and about 200 ton in the yard. Most of our logs are delivered straight from the round what you see stacked in the yard is to keep us going when there is heavy snow or a breakdown
  25. I had thought of buying his stock but we have gained some customers who have tried his logs and said they would not burn !! Understandably we have had some new customers who are very wary about buying a full load after trying his crap and have come and taken a few bags to try. I like to think that we sell a quality product but at twice his price and I have only ever had one customer complain in about 10 years and we have between 400/500 customers some active all the time probably about 450 and around 50 that come and go. The danger is buying in bags you can't see what you are getting
