  2. thanks was it still as shown in my picture ?
  3. It was on ebay about 2 years ago still painted as shown in the picture and still had my name on it having changed hands a couple of times since I sold it about 15 years ago.I went to see it the guy had a buy it now price I did not tell him that I had owned it and that it was my name still on it.When I got there at 8am he had then changed his mind from 6 pm the night before and said he was swapping it for a Scammel !!! I have not heard or seen anything of it since

  5. I have some competition locally selling builders bags for £35 !!!!
  6. Well all I have to do now is get it level, sort out some legs under it, set the 3 phase generator up and get a roof over it !!
  7. She drove fine I went through the steering and brakes. I think they were well ahead of their built in 1939 full air brakes and she was fitted with high ratio diffs so would do 54 mph flat out but was more than happy doing 45 mph. I used to drive it just over 200 miles each way to the Dorset steam fair in 7 hrs with stops.
  8. Just found this picture of my old matador with the trailer she worked with ! wish I still had it. last time I saw her she was in the Northampton area has anyone seen her ?
  9. I think we have been lucky on two counts ! I bought a small holding house and yard with some buildings but no extra land.Started to run our log business from there and as expected we got the visit, as some kind neighbor about 1/2 a mile away raised the councils interest. We are in Wales so as they classed it as a new venture we had no trouble we pointed out we had looked on the net to see what we needed to do about what we were able to do.Rates were half as a new business and halved again as we are in wales. So we did not have an issue. Now in the family is a block of agricultural ground 40 acres in total. My step Dad had the opportunity to purchase the old railway line that runs along side this. Now for many years we have run a steam and vintage rally on this site and also use it for a couple of other events. When we put some containers on this site to keep the equipment in for the club that runs this event some noisy person sends the council around who say we need permission for them,we take advise and are told we don't but the council were then on our back so we asked if we would get the permission if we applied. They say good chance so we apply and get permission for storage on about 1 acre plus the railway line. BINGO I now have around 500 ton of timber there plus other containers it's storage and there is nothing they can do
  10. I am playing catch up though for being at the Great Dorset steam fair for a week !!!
  11. We are doing around 18 cube a week and have been for about the last 4 weeks. The diary is full for the next 2 weeks !!
  12. There are no dogs holding this !!!!!
  13. Hi we find one sufficient you will notice there are a couple of small wooden wedges also in place. So long as the blade is sharpened correctly and the saw is set up properly with table square to the blade you won't have any trouble
  14. We use NFU for the tractors, buildings and contents also for public liability, but have found them to expensive for the pickup. We are using Autonetinsurance.co.uk (08003777266) This years renewal was £60 less than last year at about £280
  15. So do I when I am on the yard ! but as I said in the post this is for use where the forklift won't go
  16. Some one has probably already done this but when I am working off the yard it becomes difficult to handle vented bags as my forklift is not able to work off the hard standing. I have been pondering how to handle them, hold them open and stack them,Then I had one of those WHY DID I NEVER THINK OF THAT BEFORE moments.
  17. I never wear a watch they only last days on me !! But it's a standing joke around me as long as I have a time check before I start work I can tell the time within about 10 minutes all day long !!
  18. Hi I fell 25 feet through a roof onto a concrete floor 25 years ago, crushed lumber 1,2 and 3 plus chipped a corner of the last bone in my neck. I also have broken my left femur and right leg below my knee !! Took me about 2 years to get going again and have suffered ever since but just don't give in to it
