  2. Hi Josh , yes we did go and clean up the rip stump. and to answer the other questions on the two stumps at bottom right , the customer requested them to be left so he can fit two bird boxes. it was a nice tree to work in, and thanks for the pics Silky Fox, great tree ! steve

  7. as others have said Echo are good solid machines. I have an ECHO CS 8000 80cc monster and i love it !!!!!, so much power at mid and top end, lots of grunt, and made really well and easy to work on. steve

  10. Gloves as much as possible .... Here in Portugal and Spain , we have often turned up to do jobs and the customer comments that we still have all our fingers ....seems many tree surgeons / foresters out here dont !!!! Steve

My Big Echo is a mare for this , i do exactly what Spud has suggested , tighten it up nearly all the way , then pinch up the chain so the nose of the bar is as far up as it can go , then adjust and tighten fully. although every so often nothing seems to work for about 20 mins of fiddling !! :-)

  13. They defo respond well, I did two before I left the UK, cut them both flat on top and a little side trim and they looked great at either side of the gate. steve

  16. on the subject of back ache and seats , My landy Disco 200tdi has the most comfy seats , they are better than my 50K Nissan. loads of people who have sat in them have said how good they are for posture and on long trips they are fab. and as for insurance if it is a commercial landy i highly recommend CVD insurance. steve
  17. Best and cheapest place is Holland , tons of them , my client just bought a Kubota with only 200hours on it and every kind of implement for only 9K delivered and no import Tax. and i just got a chipper for half the price. steve

Hi there, i wouldn't worry about it , as you say.... you have worked hard for it. here in Portugal we have turned up at an expats to do a quote only to be told it was too expensive, even thought it was a low price , there response was to get a local lad from their village to free climb it and hack away at it. steve
