1. Some sound advice there, thanks guys. Been to the Dr's this morning and it's tennis elbow. So giving myself a few days rest, compression bandage and inflammatory gel. If no better by Monday it's back for some cortisone.
2. My right elbow is giving me serious pain after only an hour milling with the 066. The other week it was the right wrist. I've dosed up on heavy duty meds, but what remedies have proved beneficial to you guys?
3. Really sorry to hear of your loss, my mum lost her horse a Connemara pony a couple of years back, She loved that horse more than the family:001_rolleyes:
4. Nice find Graham, very interesting!
5. Really great work Kim, the school must be over the moon with them
6. Good idea Rob, Can't see them on my phone though. I will get a toonie off you one of these days
7. Good for indoor pieces, doesn't last too well outdoors
8. Nice purchase Dave, any idea on cost of harrycane alone? Can you fit to any saw? does saw need any mods? I heard it needs a dedicated saw
9. Hi mate, I've done a bit of carving with one a while back. It's a great little saw but found it a bit vibey on my trigger finger after a full day carving. You can fit a carving bar on no problem, but you'll need to swap the sprocket for a 1/4 one rather than the standard. Best to speak with RobD on here at Chainsawbars, if memory serves correct the carving chain needed to be a link or two shorter.
10. Thought I'd try another vid, jammed my phone in the kerf of a log to film it, so quality is not great:001_smile: Really struggled with editing on youtube, one minute I had an option to blend saw noise with music the next it was only the soundtrack. Not even sure this will show on here, urgh! technology:001_rolleyes: Will try to iron out the niggles over Christmas, Merry Christmas everyone! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyDGEQazN1U]Little xmas tree speed carve - YouTube[/ame]
11. I'm interested but I doubt you deliver to Liverpool:001_rolleyes:
12. Hi Russell, they are moto cross bike stands mate . You moved that wood yet?
13. I do and the beard is making a come back too now movember has passed:001_smile: I might just cover all bases, get the basic husky helmet for now and get some headband muffs or plugs too. Is anyone else a glasses wearer? Do the mesh goggles fit over specs?
14. Haha good point! Why is there vat to pay on the protos? I thought if you bought a helmet with muffs and visor they were vat exempt. Yes possibly mate, I wear glasses so would need to see if the mesh goggles would fit over them. Thanks for the input everyone:thumbup:
15. Broke the muffs on my helmet and am looking at what options are on the cards. New helmet? New ear muffs? headband or helmet? Ear plugs? If I go down the new helmet route is the husq the best all round choice? My current one is Stihl, not hugely impressed with their budget one. I'm half tempted to just get some decent muffs and do away with the helmet as I'm carving only, not doing tree work, but then having the mesh visor has it's uses. I suppose I could try the ear plugs and if they work for me I could carry on with my not so great Stihl helmet. What helmets/ ear protection are you guys using and recommending? Cheers, Si
16.

Hi,

Probably all spoken for now but if not I'd be interested in the butt section.

Cheers,

17. In my limited experience it's the large land owners who are greedy, when they see they can double or even triple rent if you're deemed outside of agriculture. They would prefer buildings to stand empty rather than have them used for a low rent.
18. What goodpig said, pointier snout and job done:001_smile: How are you finding the 010? I used one for a while as my carving saw but found it would give me pins and needles in my trigger finger, could have been shot av rubbers though. Still a fun saw:001_smile:
