  1. cant see it going backwards but good luck to you anyway...
  2. some kind of foreign body anyway at a guess. Yep back cut is too high but nice and level and straight:thumbup1: If i want my hinge to break early i just close the gob a bit more, back cut is always the same.
  3. Haha thats magic, extreme chipper parking! I bet you could have stuck a heel clicker in there or even a superman:lol:
  4. Bit of advice mate.... in the link you could do with saying where you are based and i would take off the 1 handed chainsaw use pictures. Gets kinda frowned upon seeing its not proper chainsaw use.
  5. yea you would think that would be the case but it seems not. Maybe there should be a thin and of course, strong wire inside the bridge or even wire woven into it somehow.... something to think about there mr manufacturer.
  6. yea sorry for the derail. might have a bit of work as well for you if your interested. PM me your number and i will call you:thumbup1:
  7. That made me chuckle:lol: Mine is a good Islay single malt, I have a bottle of Ardbeg at the moment so i guess thats mine this year:thumbup:
  8. Nah i only hang up trees when i am being watched, sods law that. Its like trying to throw the throwbag, if your being watched it goes everywhere but where you want it, if your on your own you get it first throw and there is nobody around to pat you on the back and give you a tenner for a good show:lol:
  9. I hope your going to stack mine cos my name isn't Big D:001_tt2:
  10. yea there is a thread on here somewhere with a video of cutting the flipline with a 200t and the flipline didnt last long!
  11. Dont know if this has been posted before but here it is anyway just in case. Be careful guys. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhEGpamZBJ4&feature=share]Sliding belt 0001 - YouTube[/ame]

  13. Cheers mate and a very merry christmas and a happy new year to you too, and to all the rest of the arbtalkers while i am at it
  14. nicely done:thumbup: the bonus of having some heavy machinery shown to great effect:001_smile:
  15. I am a great believer in that grandad, you are correct in many ways about people over complicating things to a point where its getting silly. I will however point out that these rigging devices really do make our job easier and safer. The pully is used as the crotch, with the added advantage that it can also be used when there isnt a crotch. The friction device (whichever one you prefer) is used instead of wrapping the rope round the trunk, with the added advantage that it can be controlled easier and the groundie has more options of where to stand. Both of these devices also let the rope run smoothly and with little wear and tear so in a way saving you money in the long run with replacing worn out ropes. It takes very little time to set up both these devices and used as they are its not complicated at all. Keep throwing in the questions grandad its good to hear your views on these things:thumbup1:
  16. nice looking letterbox:thumbup1: top job well done man:thumbup:
  17. thats a joke in itself, i once called the police to an attempted stabbing and a big fight which was still happening as i phoned them. 3 hours later they arrived and made me feel like the guilty one for phoning them. The big man did the right thing, he wasnt violent and he was calm and polite. Give the guy a medal i say.
  18. Yes i agree with the big man and would have applauded him as well. The little angel was NO angel and would have gotten off the train when asked if he was such a nice lad. The only thing that upset me was that the door never closed on his hand so the train could run the alcohol out of him. What an insane world we live in if the big man is even questioned about his actions, years ago the little scrote would have the skin off both cheeks, 2 black eyes and a few missing teeth and everyone would just say well thats what you get when you dont show respect.
  19. I worked on a lot of mimosa while in Rome and they are really quite vigorous, having said that it was in a hotter climate so dont know how they would react here. Cracking idea though Pat, i would maybe have cut it at a slight angle, the same as the first branch but its not really that important i guess. Let us know how it worked out:thumbup1:
  20. Thats a cracker right enough, good find
  21. Finally got my internet connection back! got the email mate cheers, that looks like a fun job haha. Yea nuggsy it was fair blowing up this end, got a few call outs
  22. to me it seems that both were to blame for this. The climber wasnt ready for the groundie to be stupid, and the groundie held the piece instead of letting it run. It is team work for this kind of job and it really looked to me like there was a big lack of experience from both parties. Thanks for posting and i hope some people take notes on this one.
  23. Oh well that alright then:thumbup:
  24. tsk tsk tsk typical traveller job, jump in do a bad job and run off with the cash:sneaky2:
