  1. I beg to differ sir! I have heard of a fair few dealers who are having to replace tractor brakes of big new tractors under warranty due to early failure. This early failure is usually caused by insufficient trailer brakes. In a recent test, it was found that only about 1 in 4 of properly specced trailers were actually within the 25% braking efficiency required by law.
  2. Are they still being made? I'm just a young'un but I thought production of those had stopped in the eighties, hence no mention of it. You might well be right though.
  3. The fasttrack and mog are the only two "tractors' that can legally go faster as they're the only ones that could comply with the law for LGV's (wich is what you are when you want to go faster than 20. Technically it's only legal when registered as LGV though. This is a huge hole in the law, just like ag combinations only being allowed to weigh 24t. a decent sized tractor weighs ten, put a decent trailor behind it and you could easily (and safely) double that with todays kit. Still illegal though.
  4. well done Button, but surely you meant to post this in the "your greatest achievements" thread? Could be my dad, he used to pay a reward for every dead conifer brought to him. Fire is not his style though, and he lives about 500 miles east.
  5. I always find it a mayor pain to not know the total cost until after I've filled in all my details. Why can't postage be shown in your shopping basket straight away? Perhaps when you add the first item to your basket, prompt to enter postcode and surely that would be it? The main thing I like is clarity, instantly. Like the idea of increasing discounts for loyal customers, it's a good way of binding customers, free delivery over £50 should be standard on all but huge items.
  6. Nick, I have some experience with premmies in hospital, they're the most haunting memories I have, even though it turned out well. My thoughts will be with you and your family. Good luck I planted twin girls in the mrs (well I planted 3, but one never came out) the very first time we "did it with intent", That was my main achievement so far. The fact it was twin girls was a bit of a shocker as we had been aiming for a (single) boy, but they're almost four now and The most Fabulous children I know! I own a house, some land and no mortgage. My dog does what I say, well most of the time anyway...

  9. Tractors live by different rules though, as they're not allowed to be able to drive faster than 20Mph, and to actually drive no faster than 17mph. How does one get a showman's license? Do you have to nick it from someone else, drive a white transit pickup and speak in such a way that mere mortals are unsure what language you use?
  10. Makes sense when looking at the bark.
  11. I'm with Janey, it's an apple of some sort. Afaik walnuts don't have a "tufty" bit (at the bottom of the fruit)like apples, these fruits do have tufty bottoms.
  12. gone now. Great bargain indeed, was it one of you guys on here?
  13. Do you reckon it's a job for an 880 with a 6foot bar or would explosives be more suitable?
  14. I'd have thought one could strap 85 posts to a pallet so they'll fit on 3 pallets, I'll send a lorry and Robert is your mum's brother! And yes, I thought there was a fair few on here that do them, but no offers so far.... Daniel
  15. I hired out one of my yurts, and as I have twin 3 year old daughters I thought I'd give in to a bit of pink glitter. When I was there yesterday to put up the yurt I spotted some nice old fatties, and some lovely trees as well:biggrin: So I just wondered if there's any real stunners on that site.
  16. Has Anyone got any recommendations as to must-see trees on the grounds? I've only been there shortly on friday but will be there for the whole day on monday, but as I'll be with wife and kids in tow (the appropriate six paces behind me offcourse ) I won't have all day to stare at trees. I've heard say it has the country's oldest sweet chestnut, and have seen a few lovely trees just on the drive in, but I don't want to miss any "hidden gems". Just to let you all know, I'll be going to a Fairy-Fair, for improvement of my "macho man with big saw" image
  17. Hi all, As I'm unable to find the Robinia posts I'd have liked, I'm now looking for 250 4"x 6' posts in cleft SC. Does anyone on here supply SC? I'll need them delivered to NG34 0AH (South Lincs). I also need them yesterday!
  18. You want the best of both really, funny enough to stick with people but serious enough for them to thing you mean bussiness. I used to have a bussiness called "Flaming Weenie" it was quite succesfull but then it was as a "suplier of herbs to the entertainment industry" so a different set of customers. There's a local-ish firm called treesnatchers
  19. did you know this forum has a "search" facility?:001_tt2: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/29346-swedish-candles-what-am-i-doing-wrong.html
  20. Being of the Dutch variety, I have only very little experience with SC, and Rob has always been my weapon of choice. I won't claim it's the best in the world, but I've never used or seen anything better.
  21. I'm looking into SC, but in my opinion SC isn't nearly as good as Robinia. Thanks for the suggestion though, lateral thinking and all that.....
  22. Please tell the mrs that, it's for ourselves:lol:
  23. I did, got a somewhat baffled bloke who I had to explain what Robinia is.... They don't sell it. There must be some for sale somewhere though, anyone?
  24. Wot he said. That does lead to the question of what conditions it's likely to be used in though, how much work does it need to do? And even a new etesia does not look as slick and shiny as a JD, wich is quite an important factor for most gardens.
