  1. Gerrit, it's always 1 hour later in NL than in the UK, zomertijd en wintertijd veranderen op het zelfde moment, whereabouts in NL are you from? I'm guessing you're not a Randstad person? Daniel
  2. FC state a research project, but not the results, perhaps you could contact the research station or purchase the report (looks an interesting read) http://www.forestresearch.gov.uk/fr/INFD-63KHE2 Robinia is a personal favourite for building (as it lasts about a year longer than steel) firewood (it burns incredibly hot) fenceposts (again due to their lasting nature, though they can be hard to staple into, and screw-in isolators need pre-drilling on ocasion) honey production (though they flower very short, the honey is superb and higly prized). One of the downsides is it's suckering wich means you need to keep it under tight control to stop it spreading to where you don't want it.
  3. excellent link, I love a good conspiracy theory!
  4. You need all the firewood you can get to heat your pool?
  5. Sounds like a determined, tenacious lad, good to know there's some out there still and glad he's ok. Did make me chuckle though when I read he was scared to fly. He'd just ripped his arm to bits and worried about the flight.
  6. you can buy it from the FC here bulletin 115
  7. and it's rePLIES :001_tt2: Daniel
  8. I totally agree, being of good health non-smoking moderate boozing myself, my nephew however, was born 3 years ago with reitinoblastoma, a cancer of the eyes, and were it not for our taxmoney his parents would have watched him die as there is no way the accumulated riches of my entire family (wich is reasonably well off) could have saved him. That's were the NHS comes in. I suppose the issue is with deciding wich things are self-afflicted, ie my granddad was told by his doctor to try smoking as a preventive for tb, 40 years later the son of said doctor was his new GP and told him to stop or he'd die. So, was he to blame for his bad lungs? There's many many examples of such cases and to make the decission of who is to blame themselves or not is near impossible to make. It could be argued that a lot of the drug-abusing, drinking, smoking scum is of such low intelligence and so badly educated they cannot be held responsable for those actions.
  9. As a foreigner, can I point out that the words are: Has, grammAr and ILliterate Daniel
  10. Surly if you want proper advise you'll have to provide a bit more detail. How much do you need to move at a time How far do you need to move it How often do you move that much What is your budget Do you have other work for said vehicle, if so what etc etc etc......
  11. If you look at his other listings, he's also got a pickup truck for sale wich may be of use to someone? That Bloke's other listing
  12. I couldn't get on about 23:00 either, so it may not have been you. Having said that, I also tried with my macbook.......
  13. I was just quoting the manufacturer's numbers:sneaky2:, but considering it'll chip 20" it'll be much happier with more.

    Harkie

makes sense, considering the url is http://www.redwooduk.co.uk/harkie.co.uk
  15. not had any heating on for the last 6 weeks, made a fire in the yurt last night though as my mum and her sister are staying over in it and it can get a bit nippy about 4am.
  16. I suppose there is a chance the bloke was fully intending to leave you some money for the logs but got embarressed when you turned up.
  17. Acces? Waste disposal? Cost of the other person? Either try and work it out like mentioned above, or just pick a finger out the sky and go with it... Sounds like a lovely easy job for lean times.
  18. Lincolshire is riddled with dead eucs...
  19. Please enlighten us?
  20. All correct, but the question is about the new 241, wich claims 2,9/2,9 m/s², best in show?
  21. I'll get one later on this summer, it seems to have the lowest vibe figures of all the pro saws, not sure how that works out in real life though.
  22. I'd take his vehicle the next time he shows up for work, he can have it back after he's been a good boy and paid up. After he's paid tell him in no uncertain terms to not show himself again, or else... It would mean not unleashing your anger till after he's paid up though, not always easy.
  23. Hi, I could do with a few loads of chip of whatever variety (of tree, no pallets etc) as I need to mulch around 3000 trees and chip a 1200 metre path. I've not a clue how many tonnes I'd need, but the 2 transits I had recently didn't stretch very far and would suggest I could do with another 25 at least. Any one near me in need of a regular dump? Thanks, Daniel
  24. Why is it a problem to have a machine patiently waiting for it's turn to be usefull? Depending on age etc you may well have to spend a few quid to get to that set-up and then your maintanence cost is not likely to be any lower as surely you'll do the same working hours, just on one machine instead of two. The other big disadvantage I'd see would be that you have no back-up if you trade two for one. I've not had any experience with fasttrac's in forestry but I've found them too compromised on the farm. Not the best in the field and not the best on the road either. Daniel
  25. First of all, praise to he that dives the skip! hip hip hurray! Souns like it would not be worth fixing (I've not a clue about husky's) but surely just to chuck it seems wastefull. Why not put it on ebay first, somebody might be desperate for that one part...
