  1. Many Thanks Dan.....perfect.
  2. Cheers Bill, I had already found this...I should have been a bit more precise. I was after the PDF version. I can get an owners man from the US Stihl site but can't find a working link to the partts manual. Or one I can use in the workshop away from wi-fi. Thanks Bob
  3. Please can anyone help with a parts manual for an MS440 Thanks Bob

    MS261 v2

No probs here... Got a 2015 261CM with no issues. Always careful to take tension out of the chain after use as the manual says. Bob
  5. Hi Does anyonwe hire out machines? 240V single phase? A week or two is all I'll need. Surrey/Sussex area Dorking / Horsham Bob
  6. Chains were marked on some of the areas I have been. can't say for defo everywhere. Most structures or crossings will have a tag with a measurement. I hope it helps. Bob
  7. 1/4's and 1/2's are posted. The rest of the posting that I have used has been in chains. So you'll get 80 chains per mile. 20 per 1/4 etc. Each chain being 22 yards or arond 20m. Good luck
  8. I can't get a match on that number anywhere. Cheers though.
  9. I had 261 spikes as : 1110 664 0501 and the screws to attach: 9022 341 0983
  10. Love my Salomons. 4d GTX - sounds like a car, but comfy as slippers. Taken me all over Brecon and Cumbria

    Small pro saw

I rate my 261 with 16" bar. Got it Oct 15 and it's worked faultlessly. No heatet handle. Smooth, light and easy to start. I am wary of the bearing issue but the manual says about releasing the chain tension when storing...which i do. No probs -fingers crossed- Bob
  12. Very Much like the idea of Mistajays pallet sawhorse. That's a nice temporary setup that can become firewod when the job is done. Brilliant.
  13. Get field gates blocked all the time. Always for people "going for a walk". When I say there is plenty of parking at a farm cafe 150m away or a pub 750m away they look at you like you are mad.... "we just want to go for a walk" apparently not that far though. Let alone where they are parked being private property. re:moving cars. Told by a ex PC mate of mine not to. It's a potential minefield ..incl criminal damage etc. Not interested in the aggro. Plenty of that around already.
  14. Highly recommended by the chaps from Hereford I believe.
  15. YouTube Stihl Jet Saw...... it's the first choice. Maria Urbina (?)
  16. Bonkers
  17. I got an MS230 of a mate that had worn out anti-vibe rubbers after using something like "Screwfix item no. 5256D " I think having the saw attached encourages people to force the saw through the job.
  18. Here here An old bar and spare chain saves the day.
  19. I use the spray attachement in like this filled with petrol....old toothbrush, mask and goggles.. Clears most things.. Air Tool Spray Kit 5 Pieces | Air Tools | Screwfix.com
  20. Many thanks.... Bob
  21. Will this extra handhold be an advantage for milling (using MS660)?? Bob
  22. Keen Yes. Shame, for me it's a potential 60 mile round trip around the M25 which isn't on my wish list. Firewood...in the stove...smells lovely, burns like fury
  23. Ours arrived in last week. Had a great time this weekend feasting on a new batch of midges/mosquito that have made the most of the sunny weather. Joy in the swooping
  24. don't want to seem unduly harsh or rude.... You'd probably get a better response in the Milling section.
  25. alright.....The tin went back! Got the Friday feeling too early, sorry
