  1. Firstly thanks for the replys guys, and secondly spud you will have a PM coming your way later mate:thumbup1: Terry I would love the opportunity to come and have a blast with it let me know fella when you get it back and I'll fly over to you, always good to meet other members. thanks pal
  2. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/46928-lanyard-set-up-4.html Check out this Simon....
  3. I'm not to far from you Pete, how much you had mate? Not a drop of anything here in Spalding but the wind is blowing, disrupted the power for a couple of hours last night, some scattered snow/sleet showers possible through out the day according to the weather.
  4. What's everyone's view on this? will I notice the difference? Is it worth sticking a raised air intake on the 372xp? And how much would it all cost? Thanks in advance........ Adam
  5. Subby job today 70 conny's to 6ft stumps nothing massive 50-60ish foot, most of them were felled, but thought I would get the wrench out for a bit of traversing where straight fells were not able, so knocking the tops out made them fell into the drop zone, all I'm going to say at this point is WOW! No friction no worries just redirect drop the top jump across the next same again redirect drop the top...... Once I get the chance to look over the thread in more detail I guess I'll take and learn more, crazy really as I used the old one a hand full of times and it felt so unnatural and like I had never climbed before.... Sorry I never got no pictures just a real hectic day, great start to something I hated with a passion
  6. If you changed the pulley to a HC it would still be CE as the HC is CE'd and I doubt because you have changed the knot it would make a difference either mate, after all you would have to change the cord on it at some point so you re- tying either a vt or a distal would not change a thing about the system, me personally would like to see them giving the choice when buying the lanyard to have either HC or Pinto pulley..... I see no reason why you can't use it as a short secondary work line....
  7. Sorry for being ignorant Ali and not catching up on the thread yet, what is the main idea behind the shackle? The tether on my set up is the one I used on the old wrench, works well then I just attach my lanyard to the centre attachment on the hitch climber ....
  8. So my new rope wrench arrived yesterday dinner time and then by 2pm I was out with it removing a broken limb on a beach tree, I'm really prepared to give it ago this time round, first thoughts were, an amazing difference from the original, so with out much comment now ill post my thoughts as I use it more..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  9. Nice one Dan, really enjoyed that and great camera angles....
  10. What systems are you using now mate? If your up down up down clearing lines the the rope wrench would be well worth an investment, don't see how any friction device would make things easier for you to really notice a difference unless your using a basic system like a Prussic already? If your unsure about SRT and still prefer Ddrt then I agree get your self a nice pulley saver or art cambium saver there awesome and well worth it, spider jacks, lock jacks hitch and pulleys are all relatively the same and would be down to personnel preference to what answer you get on here, so my advice would be to try a few out first, either by other work colleagues or down your local arb shop. What ever it is you decide to try remember low and slow, stay safe, and have fun. Adam
  11. I have had plenty of dreams about cavities before but there certainly wasn't no trees involved
  12. So I was out with a local tree officer at the time of this post and showed him the fungi app, they were very impressed, the only reason I never thought of Coprinus was the first image on the app kind of through me off but then when I read these replys on site we then looked at the app for picture reference and boom! Thanks guys:thumbup1:
  13. Was this the one in the golf course mate, I watched on the disco channel a year back.......truly amazing.....

  15. No Simon I tried to ring it and I said this number is no longer in use, I'm pretty gutted really:laugh1:
  16. Photos??? Would not put me of mate, the thought of your Cherry's in my face is quite appealing...... NOT! That's ok but I asked what you wear on top, but from your original post I take it, it's the wife's bra? Never heard anyone wearing a g string as a chest ascender before? Other than the above some good posts, what you you all prefer as a top layer ? Hoody, fleece, soft shell jacket?
  17. Just to confirm, I have just tried to order 2, T540XP's from my local dealer and they said it will be February before there released........ What a joke:thumbdown:
  18. Good positive thread dave.... I feel the same way, my company is small and 75% of my work comes from contract climbing, I do advertise on yell.com and a have public and employers liability insurance for private work. I started to notice a change in August but now I'm struggling to keep up with my private work and I have a lot of recommendations come in just lately, it certainly is the busiest I been in 3 years, Ok! most of my own work is from general public, but I also get recommendations from 3 of my local authority's. which I think is great considering I only use subbys myself. I do hope it carries on like this and is not just a blip, but I'm gonna work hard and enjoy it while it last...... Adam
  19. Awesome set of pictures there benn:thumbup:
  20. Ok I know most of us on here are wearing on our legs with the exception of other country's having different h&s rules, but what I want to know is what your wearing on top? Do you wear old clothes you don't use for best anymore? Do you buy clothes for work that were cheap...ish? Or do you go the whole hog and buy clothes designed for climbing? I bought a pack of vest tops from some cheap shop and normally wear an old t-shirt over the top then I either wear an old hoody, also a army fleece depending which is clean, or my waterproof regarter jacket, I paid a little for but it does the job.....and it's a little cheaper than the arb makes out there! So are you a classy climber or a .............? Not so classy climber?
