  1. Just out of curiosity! What is the other alternative mate?
  2. Thought I'd just mention it but the cut and climb jacket is ace
  3. I agree mate very good hitch fast and efficient especially if using just your rope to tie of what ever it is your rigging
  4. Nice one Dan I believe your right.... Is it the same name though if you use a different termination hitch? So a killick hitch would be a half hitch or marline hitch and a timber hitch! What if you replaced the timber hitch with let's say a running bowline or a cows hitch ect would that still be classed as a killick's?
  5. I look after all my gear mate but its 6 years old and if I'm asking myself the question of if its safe or not then its getting binned or used as a felling or tag line.
  6. More pictures Remove those 2 hangers and remove deadwood 2"+ diameter I left the semi coronet cut in for 2 reasons really 1 being as we were removing a lot of deadwood it was best to leave something for bugs and that! And the 2 and main reason being if I had of removed it, it would of left a huge pointless wound. Then I've messed around with a couple of photos so while I'm at it might as well share them
  7. Don't think there is a real name for it or term there either a half hitch or a marline hitch the difference between them both is purely the way there tied, the marline hitch forms an over hand knot when untied where as the half hitch just collapses. The cow hitch is a different hitch altogether

  12. I've used a lockjack for over ten years mate so yes I do see where your coming from, I've only had to climb big open spread crown trees, pines, small and medium dense trees yet! With the rope wrench that is! So at the minute I can't comment on the leggy ones, but I can see what you mean mate:thumbup1: I'll have a play when I meet those leggy ones:biggrin:
  13. Thanks for posting Not an expert on this subject so can't really comment, but that time line seems questionable? Between 2 and 4 PM I seen a sudden limb fall way before this say 11am ish, one would conclude to be around the hottest part of the day??? Adam
