I stretch mine as I'm doing them to remove as much as possible, one I did for RobArb I didn't stretch and the wrench kept twisting at the top.. Lesson learnt -

Completely agree with Stephen, every one is different they have there own way like most things. I had an old bt pole put up when I was 17 and practised of that.

Hey josh Work position for me was fine mate, well out the way on every cut If I'm honest I like to just cut straight through, as long as I make sure there's no shock loading on the crane then it can swing away all it likes.

I think what a lot of people miss interpret when a crane is involved and say why did you need a crane?? To be honest it was by no means a small tree, lots of wood, thanks to the guys who work so hard on the floor we never even had to do any tidying up on the floor at all, we didn't start till after nine due to parents and kids walking by to school, and we had left site at 3 with only the big timber left to be picked up with the hiab and lorry. The inconvenience to the home owners was limited to that time only and not 2/3 other days of rigging sawing and clearing up brash and wood... They are worth there weight in gold. Never underestimate what you can do in a day with a crane. Work smart not hard guys.. Very good day and great to catch up with you James, Gareth and dan. Ill post up some photos a little later and a little video from my perspective also nice video mate enjoyed it

Crane job today with James Hoddy and team, I was mostly clambering around slinging up and James doing the cutting. Left him to do the last section, was having a little banter and James thought it would be a great opportunity for a lunge I agree haha!

Ok Ben did say "about" but that's because I know he can only count to 10 I'd say your right though Ben it is defiantly as good if not better than a 200t running wise butttttttt! Can't see it being the norm myself, for the simple reason that the most basic of friction hitches the Prussic is still taught and still used to this day.. Not only the older generation even still prefer to use this but some of the younger too. The lockjack and spider jack have been around long enough now to prove this theory also!! There not the norm!! I was a lockjack junkie for nine years after coming from the likes of a Blake's then distel and loved every minute of the jack, having ventured into the world of SRT I have found my love for the hitch once more. I've had a couple of brief goes on the old zigzag and was very impressed, but again it's not for me either. The variations in techniques and gear our industry has to offer is what separates us from most, as climbers where like finger prints!! All unique in our own way. This is what makes the job sooooo enjoyable. Being different is the new norm
