  1. talking about crap pay...... whatever next, people need to man up grow some rollocks and think there lucky stars they have a job. i started on £30 a day 14 years ago and being self employed for 3 years now 12 years climbing xp i bet my bottom dolla if i worked it out from what i earn now after all expenses not working through lack of work bank holidays when no one will have you round, bad weather, injuries .....the list goes on but i bet i'd say i still earn £30 a day...... FFS............... lifes short as we keep hearing about ALL TO often, stop winging and concentrate on what your doing....and if your going to moan about pay then moan about it to your boss.......
  2. Awesome tree Mike..... wonder how many tools have been made with that single tree in its life time? yews sometimes are deceptive well From my XP anyway, there are a couple of yews in a church yard near me which date back 750 years around the size of your friends, then i have seen slightly smaller and the have dated to around 1000-1500 years, and complete opposite on another that was 8ft dia and 45ft tall dating only 350 years ....be good to find out though..... Thanks for sharing

  14. Wow must be a first for me i've put a decent thread for a change..... well looks like there looking quite popular and will give it a whirl tomorrow see how i get on. does the water never warm up from the heat given of your back? and is adding ice to it a good or bad idea ? mine has a chest strap so rupes problem will not happen, and stephen your juice must taste like one of those traffic light lollies not washing it out! loads of flavour.......... have storage for other items such as food but i think my ground staff would be a bit peed if i carried on all day without coming down.....so dinner will be on the floor as usual..... Thanks .......Adam (Maj)
  15. I know a lot of you aussie's and other hot climate countrys use them, as losing body fluid makes you de-hydrate you need to re-hydrate so from a UK perspective just wondering who use's them? do you find them more of a hindrance or a must? i recently got one from a friend and was going to try it, but just wondered on peoples views and experience's first? Thanks in advance for any opinions.....
  16. Yes more suitable for both tree and customer IMO, as Rupe says its going to be a waste of your time and customers money for you to be reducing it by less than 50% mass, and as stumpgrinder has said poplarding down to that height would be manageable for the future as regrowth could be unforgiving.......if you had the gift of the gab though mate you would persuade the customer to take down and replant something more of a suitable nature for the garden..... but then if you don't do as the customer wants you could loose the work to someone that will.......
