  1. Not turned out great but here is a couple from 13 year ago and 11 year ago. Lack of PPE I know...... The pictures include a job that took the best part of a year clearing all storm damage from oak, ash, sweet chestnut, the big lime stump I'm sat on was going to make or break me in the climbing world....a hated every minute I was up there but I persevered with it and after that, every tree was a doddle .....the big wellly in the last photo was the first one I ever climbed touching near 120ft.....then there's a picture of my best mate lee who is no longer in arb, the saw he was using was a brand new out the box 365 husky."...the poplar job was from 11 year ago back when I had braids in my hair and they hurt when I had my lid on..???? 7. Also the young growth was almost like stag horn very furry .....
  8. No mate defiantly not sweet chestnut....I'm not that crap at indents .... it's only a small tree and very much like prunus bark. My first guess was avocardo but there more smoothed leafed ....
  9. I could of put something of Alex's on there to compare the size but I'm sure the £20 note is more than sufficient ....

  12. Sorry it's in the wrong thread just getting used to this tapatalk thingy me jig...lol Hi rob thanks for the call earlier lets see it this works...... Here is the pictures of the leafs I was talking about as I was saying its a young fruit the customer had planted by seed 5 years ago but could not remember what it was. Apparently this happens to us all when we get old...lol. But I'm stumped to what it is. Did not have the camera for the tree it's self so grabbed a leaf. Make it a bit harder I know but I'm sure you'll manage... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  13. Good thread and well some well written responses all with good points. I myself would have done as huck has suggested and got them down on day1, to late for that now so move on. No point wasting anytime over it. All LA's and the TO's are different in every area, just priced a lovely Tpo'd pine to tidy up the other day I was recommended by the local TO, and won the job after they got a couple more quotes, the reason of the tidy up was because the neighbours had hacked back the limbs over hanging there side. The LA are not going to prosecute them which in my opinion they should just to set examples, but instead have overed to cover half the cost of me and my crew to make good of what they have done. TO all have there reasons and for yours to justifie what he has done must stand to good reason. And I also agree with tony on the shaggy bracket nice 30% reduction would of been ample .....TO deserves a pat on the back.....
  14. Haha... Has to the funniest thing I heard in a few weeks.....good stuff. She more than likely is trying to creep for something though they usually do strange thing before ..........." babe can we" or "can I" or "is it ok to" makes me sick...lol. Good shots though.
  15. But it was That hollow and you climbed it? So now you know it was safe enough to climb why would you have used a MEWP? Good job though. Some lovely work posted On here since I've been offline
  16. Just looked it up it's not an ellephant but as you say tony some sort of hawk
  17. Hey chap you ok? Been a while and stressful while at that. Hope your well old bean...

  18. It's all down to personnel preference. As long as your using the what ever it is your using in the right application and with in it's swl then fair does. I myself like using a variety of equipment including tenex, d12, and dineema slings, wish I had the photos of a cedar limb I had to remove we're everything had to be balanced perfect over a car port. Think at one stage I had the rope as the main anchor then 3 spiderleg balancers plus a secondary line with 3 dineema slings attached to help prevent the role of each section .....sounds complicated but proved it was well worth the effort as they came out beautifully with the tag line. Planning and more planning for the day on that one.....
  19. Well it's been a strange old couple of months, got back on the net and then the lap top gets a smashed screen so that kind of put the stop on getting back on here, me and Alex took our time to shop around for a new computer but decided on the new iPad 3rd generation and we love it. I would start with this thread straight away put all my photos are on the old lap top and now I have to start over again. I have downloaded iMovies so it will be miles easier for me and the videos on the go pro. The pictures I had I will try and get of the old one some how. But till then I'll just have to start from scratch. Work is crazy at the minute and subby work does also mean I am limit with my time to mess around taking photos and video doc's. But some firms I work for, love it so all ain't that bad. The iPad is strange to use but is great fun and well worth the money. Anyway back to the thread. Sorry to disappoint you mark and huck I'm still alive and the thread must go on.... Some great post's from a few people and some valid points. Also I like the link to the forces calculated from drew not exactly accurate as you have said but a very usefull thing to have. Great stuff.
