  1. I did think that as I was cutting it. Salved my conscience by observing the severe shrinkage.
  2. It's only "left as a pollard" because they didn't have a big enough saw.
  3. Over one cut maybe. Or ten cuts. Will it keep up over an hour? What about all day? Overheating.
  4. How much patience after the pub do you suppose I have?
  5. How to do them?
  6. Omelettes interrupted for an early easter treat. Lucked into a bit of lamb. Sailor had already had some bits off it. That’s a backstrap I’ve just had. You can tell why we breed sheep rather than deer for food. Way easier to butcher (and I prefer the taste most of the time). Like how ash isn’t really any better a firewood than lots else but it splits easily so it’s held up as the best.
  7. And since I was weighing things, this is a shopping bag that contains 50m of 12mm double braid, three deadeyes, two Pintos, a ratchet strap and a rigging device that pulls half a tonne in a straight line.
  8. Please and thank you.
  9. GRCS standard strap and bar - 10.5 kg Three bloody long ratchet straps - 8.5 kg
  10. Aye. I'm watching him cut needless corners on the other screen in a different video. I didn't say he was perfect. I said you can learn a lot from watching him.
  11. How I see eating at my house: Actually eating at my house:
  12. I’ll be eating omelettes until the chickens stop laying. Bacon, onion, mushrooms and cheese in this one.
  13. Yep. I’d even log length the stem. They’re not going to have a way to cut it are they. It’s nice to be nice. Plus there’s every chance they’d run them out to the road while I’m packing up and I’d have said firewood.
  14. Quite. I fancied a Donaldson Wasp for a while but that, probably the Bee (and maybe even Hornets now I think about it) need .223 rather than .224 bullets. Enough to put me off.
  15. Go through your phone book. The first 20 people who live between Darlington and Ashington. How many are truly in the private sector? NB A business that has mainly or only state emanation client(s) is not the private sector.
  16. P.S. Bonus one. 9:03 - Just another advert for lifting.
  17. He keeps making videos you can really take things away from. Two things that stood out to me on this one: 1:04 - I was screaming at him to rig it. I'm sure he could have spent more time on a better cut and dropped it flatter but why? You're going to rig forty other branches. Just rig forty-one. You always do a couple of easy ones first thing to get a feel for it anyway. Well I do anyway. 3:25 - Did he have to lift it that far? No. 4:17 - But did it just make life peaceful, predictable, quiet, safe? Yes. "Well that was the only easy one we've done so far." That's why I lift when I don't need to. It's just nice.
  18. Half a day! Half an hour more like. But yeah, £200 down, another £200 to chip it into the flowerbed, another £200 to take it away.
  19. This is the bloke. He made a nicer one, with no gap between the barrels. Maybe a double falling block. https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/760101804/m/3761057511 https://airgunforums.co.uk/threads/took-the-double-rifle-for-a-spin.50850/
  20. I’ve been fancying a .22 Hornet recently. The thinking man’s HMR. Importantly, rimmed. There’s a thread on the American Single Shot Rifle Association forum of bloke called Bailey Bradshaw making an absolute sweetheart of a Hornet double rifle.
  21. Fairly sure that’s not illegal. Someone correct me, stating some law if I’m wrong.
  22. I think it looks legit. Your English is very good btw.

    Hügelhedging

    Nice. Cheers.
  24. Privatised generally means cronyised in governed countries like the UK. Look at water. A service you’re forced to buy but from one theoretically private entity. No competition. Privatised profits, socialised losses. True privatisation means the state getting out of the way entirely, not hanging on as a funnel.
  25. Well imagine how much better it’d be if the private sector was doing it.
