    white smoke

also is it running at normal temp as the stat stuck open wont help and you could try having the pump timing check and advanced a tad that will / should stop the smoke probbs also tweek the tick over up a bit as the old 500,s dont like idling under hiab load etc they suffered very low engine oil pressure some had a electric oil pump fitted on the turbo versions ps has it got inline pump or a rotary pump fitted check the timing lines are bang on or advance a tad clockwise past the line by a fraction where the pump mates up to timing cover its all just age/wear design and how its used related
  21. funny you,ve said that because i,ve had troubles with chain tension and its thrown one chain off thank goodness for the chain catcher eh!! i wont/hav,nt used it off late but found the small file thing after deciding to re dress the chain up to get it ready for use etc thankyou for the good advice every days a school day for me learning cheers

  23. thanks lads that confirms my thoughts that the chains are wrong as it will only take a small 4.0 mm 0r 5/32 file from my 200t file kit 3/16 far too thick to use for dressing my 260 up
