  3. Hi all just a bit of news alot of you self employed lads are wanting to hear Borris is announcing a self employed help package tomorrow, and if it looks like it could work and he does well by us all, can we please have a whip round to raise a few quid for him to go and get his hair cut !!!!!
  4. Get out of it, we dont do pounds, shillings and pence any more !!!!!
  5. saws are in the bed and he as put the Mrs on the sofa for 3 months !!!!!!
  6. Hi all just a short message, mainly to the self employed lads on here, this is just a bit of sensible addvise about your equipment, as you are all aware of what is going on in our country and the situation is getting worse by the hour, in a couple of days we may not be able to go to work as movement restrictions are going to be enforced, if you rent a unit, container etc for you gear i would urge you to take your most valuable items home and store then indoors, the crime rate is going to rise as it all ways does in a crises situation, there will be some scum selling or swapping you £1000 saw for a bag of weed some where and times will be hard enough with out shit like this happening, when all resumes back to some sort of normalety insurance companys will be weeks behind and it will take months to sort a claim out, stay safe and take great care,
  7. I will agree with that 100% we did a job last year on the work instructions it said 110-120 cube in 2 small blocks, when i went to look i thought who added this up has ballsed it up the numbers at the end of the job was more like 250+ cube, Luckily i had bought this timber standing so it all went well for me in the end and when i had submitted weigh tickets for 167 tonne to the powers that be, every one was happy as they got paid for more than expected and i got a few tonne in the yard as well,
  8. Dont think you will be going any where after Thursday as fines are to be issued and so they should, as the only way to stop the spread of covid-19 is to make people stay at home, and just keep every one away from each other,
  9. Hi if and when all this covid-19 is over i would be interested in purchasing some of the timber of you if this job is to go ahead, i sent you a msg with contact number, i have means to self load and haul the timber myself which may be of interest to yourself, roughly where is the job situated i am just south of Lancaster,
  10. Is it a Yorkshire term for a STD ? Is it a new board game you have patented ? have you been watching countdown again ? how much do we get if we get it right ?
  11. No way started with this on monday buisness is booming
  12. Your jack is best thing on the big edge trees, was a guy i worked with last year had a ratchet wedge which he used on the bigger inside trees (straight up and not weigted one side) then a combination of jack and wedges on the outsiders, i dont think we can get away from banging wedges in with sledge, after all its a method thats been used for many decades now and seems to work well,
  13. What ever your on ! i will have one please,
  14. Hi i went through this about 6/7 years ago and ended up with a ifor 10ft tipper that gets used for many things, got rid of a ifor plant trailer and a ifor flat and bought the 10ft tipper, we move tracked chipper about with it along with a kubota tractor that just goes on with Igland winch fitted, we dont have any problems with moving either machine about, tows well, stops well and i dont find it unstable at all, others will tell you different but one thing i will stress is go for the one with the smaller wider tyres as it lowers the bed hieght down making loading not as steep, to be very honest about this a tipper serves all sorts of purposes and saves so much time when unloading log chip etc as its just push a button, you wont regret buying one as i have said many many times its been the best 3k i have ever spent,
  15. Ally Mcfeel or Mummy blows best both worth a watch !

  19. Sorry but Gold is not at a all time high, the all time high for gold was 2011/2012 and todays price as of opening this morning gold was £1295 oz at close today it was £1275 oz, now i make that a £20 drop today and this has been the trend for the last 2-3 weeks,
  20. Gold price has dropped a little lately along with many other things on the stock market, i to would hang on to it as it will rise again as soon as this corona virus thing gets sorted, i was looking at some money from a ISA a week last friday and the surrender value OK but buy monday it had dropped by nearly 2k so it will get left, and while on the net had a look at gold ,silver copper lead etc all prices down,
  21. I had this a few years back with a lad saying he has CS 30,31,32,34,35, along with a load of other tickets, he supplied the CS30,31 cert and said he could not find the others as he had recently moved house and there was still a lot of paper work boxed up, so i took his word that he had the others, then when we came to fell some big larch like 100ft + and about 30" across at the bottom, his performance said it all, he did,nt have a clue about cutting big trees, cant do it as my saw wont reach to the middle from both sides, then when he finally did supply tickets CS30,31 pole saw, lawn mower, planting trees and some others, if i was you, get him to bring his tickets and you photo copy em and then you have seen them, never do what i did as its OK untill something goes wrong then its you who is in the shit,
  22. Looking at it, i would not be getting to exited about it looks like it will have a lot of rot in it and its on a fence line so will be 100% sure it will have its fair share of metal in there and just below the bird box there is 2 horizontal lines ?? whats caused them ?
  23. Yes and your todays plumber would of just gone over the old silicone sealant, took an hour and charged about £70-80, i know several plumbers and there is only one of them who i would employ and he his old school but he knows his stuff and will not cut any corners or bodge owt every thing he does is A1,
  24. Dont be silly, do you really think some one in upper management could work out that cameras would be the answer ? would,nt be enough paper work with cameras and dont forget they probably went to either Oxford or Cambridge !!!!!
