  1. Has beer or wine gone up? If not then I'm happy.
  2. Well that escalated quickly!
  3. I'd rather have a Vespa than a ring. Then again that's just me.
  4. To be honest it's working out peachy. I buy all the toys I need (want) and she just shrugs, moans while they live I the lounge while they 'acclimatise to their new home' and then gets on with life. I'm told she came down one Friday night to find me asleep hugging my new Fein Multimaster. Who says romance is dead?
  5. Since I'm not married yet I might splash out on a Makita DCS9010
  6. Not that I've ever bought my better half a chainsaw lol.
  7. I can see this backfiring Richie my mate. You buy your dream saw. You 'present' it to Mrs Richie. You no longer have ANY right to touch that saw. That's how it works round here.
  8. Got mine from Axminster Tools. Not expensive, works well and can be used on stone/brick.
  9. Let me google that for you
  10. Even if they did, your mate would need very deep pockets...
  11. Jon from Mendiplogs. He'd make Clarkson look like a primary school teacher. Let's get him on the show! Petition time!
  12. Mass Arbtalk party in Bewdley soon then? RichieR will love a few beers, CovClimber can come, and you're only in the chair for the first round. Disclaimer: due to drink/drive rules we may not be able/willing to stay for more than one pint.
  13. In my humble opinion, we all want to look rugged and 'American' and drive a pick up truck, even I would love one. Reality is, in the UK they just don't work. The bed is open to the elements so if everything doesn't get stolen at every set of lights, or when you pop into the supermarket for a sandwich, it will rust or sag. Put a solid roof over it and apart from the cost, you've ruined the looks and limited the height of any goods carried to that of an MPV. Then you've got to deal with the fuel consumption, half what you'd get in a van or MPV/Estate car. What we all need is a van, our ego says were better than that, and so like The Fall Guy we buy a stuntman worthy 'truck' to massage our ego. And then have to leave all our tools and goodies at home so they don't get stolen.
  14. Currently only about 25,000. Prior to these last 18 months I was doing 50,000 plus per year. I did this for 6 years and wore out two cars completely in three years. I didn't have any crashes and haven't since. Maybe my standard of driving is a little higher than average as a result eh.
  15. Owned by TAta, made in Solihul. It's the British jobs that count at the end of the day. I don't think most people see Jaguar Land Rover as an iconic Indian brand/brands do they? Pedant.
  16. Better safe than sorry mate !
  17. Hi Jon mate, Only football I watch is the World Cup. Other than that I find it less interesting than knitting lol!
  18. If it's a weekend when you'd otherwise be mooching about the house, why not.
  19. I loike how you said loike to an Irishman.
  20. I think whichever way you cut the cake, it's gonna be cheaper and easier just to go and get the thing. Yes it's a day of travel, but take the wife/girlfriend/boyfriend with you and make a day of it. Set off early, stop for lunch in Warwick, visit the castle. Collect the log and have a look around Bewdley (very beautiful town). Then trog back via Stratford Upon Avon and have some tucker at The Stag at Redhill. Nice day out, log got, everyone's a winner.
  21. How long have you been driving Jon? How many accidents have you had? How many airbag 'deployments' have you had? Exactly. It's brochure candy floss. Having said that, for what you want to do, just buy a Toyota RAV4. Job jobbed,
  22. Unless he wanted to carve a totem pole..
  23. Jeremy will stay, he's the BBC's cash cow. If they sack him I formone will stop paying my TV licence. (You don't have to, check youtube) Hammond is a good guy, and has his place in the trio (and is a keen biker), May is a technical nerd and helps satisfy the more pedantic and mechanically minded sorts. (Also a keen biker). Clarkson hates motorcycles, and bicycles for that matter, but he's an interesting, larger than life presenter (and even better journalist in his various colums/books) He is the king pin of Top Gear, and for the BBC to think they can replace him with Ben Fogle, Tiff Needel, or Olly Murs would just be a catastrophic fail for the Beebs income. I'll watch and wait.
