  1. Richard Mumford does a good video on forces/angles YouTube or treebuzz .. Some actual forces put on limbs are not wot you'd expect but in real word srt work climbing being able to make multiple anchors in skinny trees is where srt shines .... Yes it's nice to keep simple set ups but re- directs makes for perfect work positions & that's wot we are looking for )
  2. Have a look on " Facebook srt group " loads of discussion on this subject:)
  3. In a lot of ways srt is safer due to the ease & varied ways you can multi anchor & don't have to worry about a running line ... All the other issues with unseen high anchors etc are things that no matter what systems your on you shouldn't be risking your life on a dodgy branch !!!
  4. Treestuff had them @ $260 on offer some times , but yes they are too expensive really
  5. I did over a year on the bone , then switched between the bdb & runner eventually choosing the runner due to it feeling smoother & having the pulley tending better in short movements ... The runner doesn't feel in the hand as nice as the bone but is more refined in its action & performance... The akimbo looks to have a good shape but it's how the device feels on the rope that matters .. I'd hoping we see more companies pushing r&d into srt devices it really is the way to go
  6. No problem , harness ? Try Afew on see wot suits your shape .. I use a TM , I've got some chest harness you can try & a wrench & rope runner set ups .. Pm & I'll send my number when your sorted thanks John

  12. Sorry Phil lambert is the only person I know with a kelsa chipper , they do rate it , I know they chose it over the heizohack think it copes with brash better & the hack use to have a few issues ...
  13. Same situation for us , the trainer we ask hadn't ever climbed srt , had never used a grcs , don't think he'd ever rigged a big tree out ... )) should have payed us for some training !!!!
  14. The trouble with this 5 year re- training program is that it forces Arb workers who are working on the front line of the job to go for unnecessary training at great expense & time ?? I might add once this 5year idea was put out all the h&s people in other companies have jumped on this & are forcing workers & contractors to jump threw this hoop ...,
  15. Abit early for pigeon here in nw uk , we mostly shoot over barley when the birds try to flatten it , we eat some pigeon & we use steel shot so we can use them for feeding goshawks ..
  16. imagine all that rope hanging around along with rigging lines etc , can't wait ) ,as things are going I might be retired before we get any ce approved systems !!
  17. But irata will say we work With two lines this is what tree srt should be doing , but that isn't going to work out for tree work so where does that leave us ???
