  1. I'm looking for someone with a tipper and chipper who is interested in subbing to us on a regular basis. Occasionally threads pop up with chaps advertising that they have the gear (but not enough work?) so I've had a search but can't find any. Working area is in and around Reigate, Surrey. If this interests you then please PM or call me on 07834414271. Thanks Al.
  2. Al, do you also have a link to a load of people who are upset with their Ventura or Pfanner customer service? Lol! Thanks Al.
  3. Well after 8 months I sent back my Pfanner Ventura rain jacket, even though I'd only worn it about 10 times. It is not even shower proof and I am am totally convinced that it was never waterproof, even from day one. I just assumed that it was a bit of sweat on the inside but did notice that the rain didn't 'bead' and run off. I sent it back to Treekit who have responded honourably and professionally. However, Pfanner took ages to inspect it and send it back with the conclusion that I have owned it for too long! I have emailed Pfanner directly to gain further info and plead my case but they have not replied. I promised myself I wouldn't post anything on here but want to know if anyone else has found the most expensive Arb climbers jacket to be totally useless? .
  4. Had my Protos since before they came out here and no problems at all. It will be replaced with another.
  5. So if the shed was gone and an exit had been created, why on earth use a crane? How did you get the client to pay for a crane for such a small tree? What's you're secret? Lol!
  6. Agreed. The Stihl or good for cutting rough hedges but won't trim a Conifer nicely after its fourth day out! An Echo will still be cutting conifer nicely after three years.
  7. Never mind the knot, what happened to Pedroski??? He used to be on here a lot and usually made humorous contributions.
  8. I'd recommend Arbaid. Greig Sutherland will travel to your venue and deliver a very well prepared course that is tailored to precisely what we can experience in our work environment. Needs 6 people on a course so if you don't have that many, start a thread on Arbtalk and you'll get another firm to join you. That's what I did.
  9. I've been working off an SRT system since Ian Flatters started the Rope Wrench thread. I read that first page then emailed Kevin Bingham and ordered one. (I think)
  10. I'll get photos of the tree and access tomorrow. I'll take measurements by holding my thumb up, closing one eye then asking my 8yr old to write down a number.
  11. I know, only kidding. It is 20ft from the roadside BTW. Does that count? 😜
  12. Nice idea but it's leaning over the patio. The patio and Laurel hedge are to be removed so can be damaged. Easiest is to either drop it on the Laurel then lift it or just pick it where it is. Do you want it Al?
  13. This is the Macrocarpa. It's not round and diameter is 4ftx3ft. Lorry access is good.
  14. Can two or three people carry it a very short distance, about 3 metres to get it past the dog leg low wall?
  15. Yes I'm a Royalist too but I don't think even the Queen can help the 'video stars' of this thread! Lol!
  16. Ooo, sounds interesting. How long is it because there's a slight dog leg? I'll measure up and let you know.
  17. The Cypress can easily! The Sequoia, no.
  18. What's a lucas? The gap into the Seqouia garden is less than 3ft wide.
  19. I'm looking for a member called James Pepperpot as apparently he has a large Alaskan Mill. However, I can't find him in the members list. Does anyone know of him and have contact details? Many thanks.
  20. Sod working in conditions like that!
  21. The measurement is including all the bark though. Get that off and it's several inches smaller. Also, that's the size at chest height where it's tapering a bit. Surely someone wants it. It is free!
  22. If you have an Alaskan Mill and want some Monterey Cypress and Giant Redwood please call me on 07834414271. The trees are in Reigate and the Sequoia must be milled on site and it has a circumference at chest height of 4.65m. It will all belong to you so you can use or sell to make as much profit as you want.
  23. I have a Macrocarpa and Sequoiadendron in Reigate and need someone to come and mill them and remove the wood. Access for the Macrocarpa is good so it could be lifted if you prefer but the Sequoia must be milled on site then removed. All the wood will be yours to use or sell as you see fit. Please PM me or call 07834 414271 Thanks Al.
  24. It is ridiculous, but true.
