  1. Bercow should have his cock nailed to a cross, and then be slow roasted, all while being eviscerated , the smug odious arrogant(partisan, but strangely not to his own party) posturing prick he is.(Except his wife needs to look elsewhere for cock/prick, apparently) I dare to say he would have fitted in consummately well with Mr. Hitlers Nazi party of the 1930's through to about 1943.
  2. No, I read that bit, so, he may indeed wish the subsidies to be done away with, BUT, while they continue to exist he will rightfully claim them. How would his not claiming make any difference. Hell he may well use the subsidies he does not approve of, but claims, to campaign against the existence of these very same subs.
  3. So £18,800, per year, AND split 4 ways. So actually £4,700.00, and taxable, quite a bit less dramatic. When the top "earning" NI/Belfast benefits claiming families are on £100k+ per year.(untaxable)
  4. Au contraire, Wor pond bes up fully 5 or 6" this last couple of weeks! Which means about 2.5 to 3" of rainfall.
  5. Happenstance we met a gentleman with 2 very well behaved Cocker Spaniels on our 1/2 mile walk, a very well mannered older dog and an equally beautiful 10 month old bitch(imported from the US apparently) Despite me not being Spaniel fixated, they really really were lovely dogs.
  6. Bugger me, but I do! Tis that Presbyterian deferred gratification thang coming home to roost, wi a bang bang!
  7. I took the Mrs. to the Dr. this afternoon, we also took Montgomery, I parked at the Clinic, then walked the 13 week pup about a 1/2 mile down to the shops and back, quite heavy traffic whizzing about, plus we needed to cross the main traffic route a couple of times, going in both directions, and I had to(briefly) leave Montgomery tied outside the shop. Montgomery behaved impeccably, despite being a tad nervous of the traffic at first, especially his calm demeanour when left tied outside the shop, for the first time EVER. This was also his first proper walk on a lead, but he almost intuitively walked "at heel". The Mrs. then volunteered to drive me home, if I wanted a couple o excellent pints o Guinness, during the consumption of which he blissfully slept in the car, without stressing out or chewing owt.(like the leather clad gear knob or steering wheel) Came back home to a wonderful, pre-prepared Spaggati Bolagniase, washed down with a quite magnificent Rioja. Seriously impressed, in most all respects. P.S. Hoping to get called DogFace anytime soon, wink, wink!
  8. The kit arrived this morning. I first tried the plane iron on my forearm hairs, after a touch-up on the 1000 grit diamond stone. No dice. I then followed the instructions for using the honing paste, and after a very few strokes, WOW A wee snowdrift of downy hair piling up on top of the plane iron. Seriously impressed. £15.00 well spent, even though, as I thought, I did not need the bit of leather. cheers mth
  9. Looks like a Farmer up a tree with a chainsaw to me.
  10. Most Excellent Anal-ysis good Sur! Now go fuck yersel!
  11. Montgomery is still being very good, O.K. on a very wet morning he rather shit inside, DESPITE just coming in, from being put outside, but only the once, and I caught him in the act so I was able to communicate the reason for my displeasure, with no room for misunderstandings. So far so good. I have encouraged him to chew down on various firewood sticks, as opposed to shoes or owt else. So far so good. mth
  12. Fingers crossed;
  13. Ding Ding! No-deal Brexit could trigger house price falls of 20pc in 2020 – here's where to bag a bargain WWW.TELEGRAPH.CO.UK House prices could plummet by as much as 20 per cent if Britain leaves the EU with no deal, according to new research. See, what-did-I-tell-ye, and with desirable homes being so expensive, "J" can "spend more to save more".
  14. very very tidy looking Ratman.
  15. So how or where do the farmers spend their, apparently, ill-gotten gains? and from a lifetime of observation, I can only surmise locally, be it at a machinery dealer, car dealer, fuel station, the pub or the grocer. So they are helping to support the local community. food for thought. m
  16. Its being left to rot. The owner of the access track doesn't want any lorries on it, and there isn't anywhere to stack the timber off site BUT no stack site is available, though one might have imagined it could have been directly loaded onto a parked up truck, but presumably this is unworkable. Still a crying shame. Heli extraction perhaps, get the MOD involved?
  17. I did not wish to draw any unfortunate inferences, however indubitable, from your user ID And anyway I just ordered this; Trend DWS/HP/KIT Honing paste kit WWW.FFX.CO.UK Trend DWS/HP/KIT Honing paste kit kit from FFX
  18. So you see no need for anything finer than 1000 grit RH?
  19. As a younger man, I too failed to have the wisdom to accept that what I could not change, which is what I perceive you are doing during the course of this discussion. btw, My comment was entirely facetious, but you are rather banging on about a subject you are very unlikely to change, unless as someone said the "Project Fear" campaign is correct and the UK economy collapses post Brexit. See there might be a silver lining in there for you "J"
  20. Well then, "J" to be proper blunt, fuck off back to Germany.? Or Poland, or Hungary or Bulgeria or somewhere. Simples!
  21. I bought myself a Trend DC 300/1000 grit "whet stone", I use WD40 as lube, I am pleased with the edge I can get on chisels and plane blades, BUT I am curious as to the benefits of "stropping" So What is your flexcut leather and gold crumbly stuff Bill. regards marcus P.S For "grinding", I flip my Perles belt grinder onto her back in the vice, it does not burn the edge while allowing for rapid stock removal. And Mk 1 eyeball all the way. OOPS! Having watched RobCosman on Youtube, I am needing to refine my plane blade sharpening, . . . just a little!
  22. Eggs, Simon is it?, Anyway, despite our philosophical differences, we too started out with a previously owned and run-down 1100 sqft timber frame bungalow and very second hand furniture, plus a small(1100cc) self maintained 2nd hand car. I improved the dwelling with CH and a garage, all done with my own labour, and we sold it to buy another dwelling nearer both our places of employment, From where we took the gamble of buying bare agricultural land at public auction, land that no-one else was interested in bidding seriously on btw. Nowhere in the first 2 house purchase and sale transactions did we "make" any money. Our current, and quite unfinished 25 odd years later build ,was also the receipt of much of my own labour. And was not planned with any forethought as to maximize any likely aftersale, which would be a proper nightmare. Nowt in life is free. And again, I was discerning or fortunate(but madly and passionately in love nonetheless) in my solid choice(well her choice I suppose, as in I chased her until she caught me!) of a mongrel bred Army-brat lover and wife. Marcus
  23. The numbering is surprisingly simple, but perplexing nonetheless,; No 52 is 8", No 52 & 1/2 is 9" and No 53 is 10" across the jaws. No idea re the replacement spring, but ebay perhaps? Anyway here are some images of my fitment am today, the jaws were surprisingly distorted(from the factory) being a good 1/8" tighter at the top than at the bottom, so my Oak offcut liners needed quite a bit o fettling. I went a bit overboard with the heavy(No 3 Pozidrive head) screws, more because I was unsure of the underlying blockboard core quality of the 3/4" thick Formica faced bench top, and I needed to countersink the screw heads. Aint cordless screwdrivers quite wonderful!
  24. Lit the fire this morning, which was quite prescient o me, because it bes a gui dreagh day here today with that wonderfully wetting NI "drizzle". Actually mild despite the drizzle, but awfully dreary nonetheless.
