  1. I just spoke to Andy, the Norcar agent named above He described them as the Rolls Royce of mini loaders, & more expensive too, but to quote Mandy Rice Davis or perhaps it was Christine Keeler; "e would say that wouldnt he!" mth
  2. Kranzle sold alongside nilfisk at my local dealer about twice the weight(and price) of the nilfisk sitting right beside it. sexy sexy sexy mind i bought a nilfisk 20 year ago and it is still 100%, though the pressure hose is worn through to the canvas.
  3. How do Giant compare to Avant price wise, with similar lifting/tipping loads? Any dealer websites about?
  4. A couple of Giant models are also rebadged and sold in the UK market as Kubota, or so I understand? There is a Kubota mini loader advertised on tinternet (somewhere!)as ex demo for 17k£ link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kubopta-Compact-Loader-RT140-/262792067774?hash=item3d2fa0babe:g:MOgAAOSwopRYbLrR link: http://www.fwi.co.uk/machinery/kubota-launches-mini-loaders.htm
  5. I "thought" that, since engine hours were now simply turn of the key run time, not actually counting crankshaft revolutions and dividing by PTO rpm, (as used to be the case). That 5000 hrs, especially with concurrent improvements in engines and lubrication technology, was now considered more acceptable? cheers marcus
  6. I have been seriously looking for a "wee handy" loader tractor/handler this while. At present I am kinda fixated on a Landini Powerfarm 60, cabless with a loader. seems to be value for money, looks fresh, 5000 hrs on, good tyres, and should do all I need. Am I missing something(other than a cab) marcus
  7. tsk tsk, Same silly argument as when BMW first asysmetrically mounted the rear wheel on a stub axle. Aaaragh, itll never work! FFS IF it is correctly designed, and used within some reasonable limits, no worries. P.S. Any cheap 2nd hand Multiones going? mth
  8. To butt in with my 0.5p worth. We run an Avant 640 in work. We also run a JD3720 hydrostatic tractor, with 300 series loader. I really like and rate both. Both are on turf tyres. IF using the Avant with pallet forks one NEEDS hydraulic side-shift. Not so with the wee tractor. I would like to buy an Avant/Multione type machine, but scarce 2nd hand and bloody expensive. And for my envisaged duties a wee tractor perhaps more versitile(with proper/Mechanical PTO) Since the reach on the Avant is marginal. PS For fine control, i.e. power with precision, it HAS to be a hydrostatic transmission, EVERY time. PPS I understand Kubotas hydro transmission to be a bit "soft" and likely to lie down to heavy work/sustained road work. Not so for the JD. My dream tool is therefore a JD 4049M/4066M, with loader.

Oh! I forgot, multimillion £ "state of the art" operating theaters should be staffed 24/7, to get the value out of a VERY expensive fixed asset. Ditto consultants should work evenings, nights and weekends, on rolling shifts. He who pays the Piper should call the tune. And time-served Ex Services Paramedics specially for the Friday & Saturday night crowd, looking for a fight.

Despite the appalling inefficiencies and incompetent staff across all professions within the NHS and at all levels PLUS the useless drunken twazzocks in any Accident & Emergency room, our local hospital, despite a generally poor reputation(and deservedly) has an outstandingly well run x-ray/ultrasound department, the wife and myself have had 4 xray/scans recently, in each case we were in seen and back out, all before the actual appointment time. I take it this is simply and purely because of whoever is in charge of this department being a good leader and setting an example. Altnagelvin on the other hand despite its better reputation, has appalling "no show" for booked appointment statistics, due to the local demographic. And after reading some of the statistics for monies paid out to those on benefits, i.e. per head or per household, surely ALL should pay the SAME for access to ALL services, and if necessery adjust the payments (upwards) to give every (sensible sized) family a living wage, and cut out ALL the freebies. i.e. In NI when those in employment, or not in receipt of benefits paid for their prescriptions, paid-for scripts were only 10% of the total. 90% being free. That is mad & unsustainable.
  11. Yanmar engines in many rubber tyred diggers, & other small plant, harder to listen too than a Kubota, but I suspect more efficient/more powerful for the same fuel consumption.
  12. Ah widnay want to encourage or otherwise get the wife into the habit o stubbing her fag on my testicles, otherwise . . .
  13. Part of the appeal of the 'Nash is cos I got an acquaintence who knows them inside out, and will vet it for me, otherwise probably focus on a MF 4355, since loads about locally, but nominally 50% more expensive. m
  14. Thanks TCD, tis only a 4 pot, but a tad nimbler for lacking 2 cyl, & seems like value for money, since the loader appears to be in good nick, & at least zero electrical gremlins to worry about. cheers m
  15. Anyone want to offer an opinion on buying a 1987 International 856, with a fresh tight Q445 Quickie loader fitted? Iffen I am going to buy a sensible ag loader tractor. cheers m
  16. I admired the simplicty of the "pull-off" transporter, pure innovative genius. Also jealous of the various tractors on display, so I must go a tyre-kicking today ps is the word "ingenious" derived from innovative genius?
  17. Having watched a biography of Lloyd George last night, presented by his great great grandson Dan Snow, dontchaknow, which revealed that; (i) Lloyd George probably/almost certainly & disasterously lead the UK into the first World War, despite being "anti-war", because to have done otherwise would have handed the impending? election to the Tories. And throwing the British nation and Empire into a senseless slaughter was a small price to pay to prevent that unthinkable political event. (ii) Then wrote to his wife imploring her to prevent their 2 Sons volunteering, immediatly after making a rousing speech to encourage the young men of the country to volunteer to fight. A complete hypocrite, so, as they say, the Libs, "they got history" cheers m

    Briquettes

Yes, to answer your ? OSM. ps Senior Managment asked why I googled "hotties", I dont imagine she really believed my entirely honest answer either. sigh!

    Briquettes

Funny enough, having purchased and burned a few(briquettes) 35 years ago while living in Belfast, I was idly examining the pallet on display in Tescos only last week, but could not establish the weight of the pack. If produced on a proper industrial scale, I think a good product and a good idea. PS Why did all the , full, 1/2 & 1/4 of the displayed pallets of "Hotties" be deceitfully built with a hollow core? Does the vendor imagine his customers are as dense as the product perhaps? cheers m
  20. Ere! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schadenfreude I am apparently not the only one!
  21. Ere, Ah just had a wonderfully comforting uplifting thought, you know them Eurocrats on their Platinum plated Euro saleries & pensions. I fervently hope when the Euro project collapses, they are locked in to worthless Pensions paid in worthless Euros. Now THAT ud be a proper result!
  22. how does that well known saying go again Hairy, "great minds think alike, but . . . Since "DuH" was my very same conclusion:lol:
  23. Assuming "rebated" diesel is available in France, a "no-brainer", proper Kubota territory that 35HP size engine is, AND Diesel is inherently safer, however with the significent recent developments in petrol engines, not so clear cut, application dependant(i.e is a quieter air cooled petrol pref to a noiser heavier, more expensive diesel), as it once was. So unless the petrol engine (in a chipper) makes the difference from below 750kg to above 750kg perhaps?
  24. Our 40 kW Solarbayer, and now about 10 years old burns/burned ABSOLUTLY cleanly, despite being stuffed to absolute maximum with split conifer, after a little smoke during start up. Contrary to the instructions in the manual provided, I found it best to get a good roaring fire established with cardboard boxs and kindling consisting of the finer & splintery bits from the splitter, then "load her up" to complete firebox capacity. Drawing through 12m of twinwall flue, but ZERO visible smoke or even any perceptible haze. Oh and a buffer tank fed through a Laddomat. marcus
  25. A bit like the abuse of postal votes by some inner city Labour Party supporters in the UK then! so an aspect worth considering. Anyway here in NI, we got PR, 'n look where THAT got us! But, without a doubt, any person wishing to vote, SHOULD be able to produce SOME reasonable form of identification, and I favour a simple photographic national ID card. Keep it simple.
