  1. My dad when working im my aunties sawmill found a bill hook in a big but they had on the stenner ! apparently that was interesting also chains and wire ! Saw 6 foot long 5 foot diameter beach but go into a tub grinder due to the amount of rubbish in it ! it was a roadside tree and had been used since turn of dawn for posters and signs and the alike ! anywhere you tried to cut it you would find something !
  2. yeah they load well lol ! nearest is my 110 furthest is the 130
  3. No but im pretty anal with servicing tbh ! When i worked for the old firm we had a golf converted to run on 100% PPO only once did we have issues with that too ! the right setups or right mixes with good derv its fine ! personally im vary wary of BioDiesel unless its from a known good refiner as its so easy to cock it up or not clean it correctly etc ! Local garage to my old place tried to sell it but after three weeks and several complaints and one dead engine they stopped it ! the issues come with the solvent property's of the oil or Biodiesel to clean the tanks etc this cleaning causes any muck to be dragged into the filters etc !
  4. Yes in landrovers ! 200tdi and 300 tdi it acts as lubricant as you well know it makes mine run smoother wit less of the rattles than normal tbh MPG is unknown but not less than would be expected i know several that do it to good effect too ! Since the removal of sulphur in the fuel which used to act as a lubricant and the fact that places like supermarkets additive packages are poor its a usefull tool in the box ! adding a litre or 2 of PPO Pure plant oil such as rapeseed oil has the same effect. David
  5. Easy done ! we built a three way tipper on our 130 from new chassis up ! get exactly what you want mind you there are alot out there if you look
  6. Cool should be a good time im guessing your not expecting everyone to be line lol ?
  7. Hello, is this the Police?" "Yes. What do you want?" "I'm calling to report about my neighbor Billy Smith! He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood." "Thank you very much for the call, sir." The next day, the Police descend on Billy’s house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They swore at Billy and left The phone rings at Billy's house: "Hey, Billy Bob! Did the Police come?" "Yeah!" "Did they chop your firewood?" "Yep." "Merry Christmas, Buddy"
  8. Most of the storage site that use shipping containers next to each other have the inside of the roofs spray foamed to create the thermal barrier to prevent condesation
  9. that particular unit is full width and full depth so considerably larger surface area with 3 inch inlet and outlet the flow is unrestricted and i can tell you that it works ! the 130 went from standard to brunell uprated and then to a forge unit then to one of these and they are the least restrictive to date ! We are running a VNT on the 130 and that is air hungry it would stall on the inlet side before we uprated the intercooler and intake pipe work. Re the cost Well only knowing the cost from Allard is i could fit one for the price of there kit with the extras like hoses and brackets and SETTING UP the vehicle ! the only additional cost we would recommend would be fitting of an Exhaust Gas Temperature gauge as to tune them properly you need to know this to prevent overheating and melting of heads and pistons ! There kit starts at £399 plus vat !
  10. i can still fit one for less than the others mentioned ! as i said in my last post depends what your trying to achieve and how you want to get there and your skills and time etc !
  11. Erm im not comparing it to a modern plough i used to plough with an old ransomes TSR 300 and a Kverneland 5 furrow the most hydraulic that either were are turnover ! also ploughed alot with three furrow and two furrow conventionals with no hydraulics all spanners and crosshafts and leveling boes ! and erm spent 8 years working in a college where we were teaching machinery operation and setup and here we were using threee Dowdeswells one Dp8a and two Dp7s ! and a variety of conventional ploughs and a range of tractors ? and where i grew up its anything from heavy weald clays throught shingle and sand with a little or no body to it ! i think we can be to differ on our opinions and experences and call a halt to this derail ? The op wanted to know about What is best for Pulling trees with tractors and this isnt ploughing !
  12. I am at a slight advantage as to owning a workshop and all the facilities needed to Engineer things to fit ! we have pipe benders and tig welders etc and wt engineer solutions for theses fitment issues ! I think its like most things its the way you approach them and also what your trying to achieve ! For every individual its different ! This is what makes the world such an interesting place
  13. its quite a lot better than standard ! lol Its very similar to the one in the 130 at present and its very very much improved capacity than a standard Landrover unit being around three times the surface area ! Proof is in the pudding as they say ! Its a generic Intercooler the usage guides are erm how to say a Guide as to what it will fit ! (with help)
  14. Jon with that one you have to do some serious fitting to get them in it can be done but you need some reducing elbows in silicone hose and modify the inner wing ever so to get them to fit ! Treequip i beleive is talking about direct fit ones similar to those from Forge Alisport or Allard for instance
  15. Like everything its a compromise ! if you look back to Pre tdi engines they all had full width radiators so what did Landrover doo when the wanted an intercooler and higher horsepower engine ? Fit a smaller rad and stick the intercooler next to it ! What do they do now use full width rads and full width intercoolers ? 99% of vehicles are compromises ! The Td5 engine was ment to be part of a set of three a Td4 which we have in the freelander the Td5 and a Td6 but BMW pushed the Td6 out and brought forward the deployment of the Td5 early this is widely thought to be some of the reason that the early ones had "issues" due to lack of extensive testing !
  16. Rob it depends where anfd who you go to the VNT kits from one company are that yes the last one we fitted we sourced all parts direct cuting out midle men and with the fitting and proper tuning including digital EGT unit was the same price as the kit is from others ! Have you driven a 300 that has been VNT'ed ? the difference is astonishing! Our 130 as said is a work vehicle it spends most of its working life going full weight with an ifor full weight behind so 7000kgs all up tacho etc and this conversion/ modification means that when towing etc your not stuck in the slow lane with wagons going past you your up with them and makes for a much smoother less stress full drive ! The fuel consumtion is next to no different to when it was standard as the extra torque helps and the fueling is dictated by the max EGT which you have to keep below 720 degrees this is then where you have the larger intercoolers etc ! Its all down to what you want to achieve we fitted a VNT to a 200tdi 90 for a customer whos turbo had come to its end of life and yes in normal life it would be overkill but the customer wanted it so he got it ! The 90 does go well lol !
  17. Ah cool makes sense now ! ~Yes we get the classic when we do remaps for people will it improve the MPG the answer is yes if you drive with the better lowdown torque and use the gears better but your probably going to blat it around with a large smile on your face ! Classic human nature as you say.
  18. Thats where i would look too ! they have alsorts does make you think what there upto lol ! im guessing lots of export soft top chassis cabs and custom build s
