  1. Lovely job that fella, I'm wanting to do the same thing myself. Looking forward to seeing the finished product:thumbup1:
  2. Have you got a link to the vids?
  3. Excellent stuff there fella, plenty of talent on show there!
  4. lovely stuff:thumbup:, what size alaskan did you get? Was thinking of doing something similar myself.
  5. The guy is awsome, some real head scratching stuff. Would love to know how some of it is done!
  6. Top job fella, like the design of the back, is it 2 planks cut into 4, like the way the contours follow each other.
  7. I'd be well up for that, it's just too far for me. If there's ever a workshop near derbyshire count me in.
  8. Nice stuff.
  9. You'll have a cracking time fella, I spent just over a year in Oz and loved it. Spent most of it working as a cycle messenger in Sydney, also had 2 or 3 weeks in Melbourne. For the best free view of the city go to the Sofitel Hotel on collins st. and go to the toilets on the 35th floor! Also check out the numerous street sculptures, the lost purse was my favourite. Oh and take in the Dandenong ranges, excellent native bush:w00t:
  10. Done a few "standard" mushrooms in the past, only rough tho. Thought I'd have a go at a finished triple for my Nan's birthday pressie. Hope the pics work
  11. Cracking seat that Rob, not sure about the swinging tho, bit of a jolt on the backswing eh!
  12. They've moved from there to Bradwell:001_smile: Craft Supplies - The Home of Wood-turning, Janik, Charles Greville, Sound Wood, ShopSmith ...
  13. Looks very effective fella, did it cost much to make? I'd love to do some milling myself but it's a fair investment(big saw, mill, bar & chain) for something I probably won't get to use much:sad: Just out of interest was the fallen oak a bit of opportunist milling or a job you were supposed to be doing? Getting the timber to mill is a stumbling block for me as we don't get much of a decent size at work (utility arb!) or the time to do it!
  14. Cool vid, love the front flip.
  15.
  16. Thanks guys, will check it out, just need to find a decent, economical lathe now.
  17. We used to have one a few years back working on the powerlines, rented from global. You certainly knew it when you were towing it (landy 110) but it just ate timber, definitely earnt its nickname 'the beast'! Might have a photo somewhere.
  18. Nice stuff Ben, particularly like the laminate bowl:thumbup1: In the process of getting a lathe myself, hopefully won't be too bad at it. Just wondering do you use green or seasoned wood, also did you teach yourself or did you go on a course? Cheers, Steve.
  19. Nice stuff, love the bench.
  20. Probably done this wrong as it's my 1st post but hopefully some pics of my 2. Monty is the big one, boxer x GSD and Ruby the little 'un 3/4 boxer, 1/4 staffy.
