  1. Let's just ease back a bit boys. Not sure we have to worry about the release of predatory keystone species ever becoming a reality in the UK. DEFRA got their knickers in enough of a twist over the "accidental" release of Beavers into the River Otter. If they were going to go for it then a species such as the European Lynx (also an ex-native) would be a much better bet, it's not as adaptapable as the Wolf, which means it's less likely to start turning up in our towns and cities and will be less of a threat to our livestock, not to mention the Ramblers Association.
  2. Ain't the interweb a weird place. Just one click away from that article............... A Commandment of Jesus That Post Trib Cannot and Will Not Keep - Page 3 - Christian Forums It's me own fault, I should learn to stay away from the comments section.
  3. BTW Matt, I see you are looking for work from forum members. So well done for insulting one of the people who might have had some for you and after just 12 posts on the forum too.

    Red Top.

I don't know until it gets here, but was sold as nearly new, off a salvaged landy. hence the low price.

I know, about time something good happened.
  10. You do accept that even a 45cc saw will move a 30" chain, but it won't cut 30"s of wood.

Don't have a winch (except the Tirfor).

Have to say, I had a bit of a result there. £52 + £15 p+p. Pretty much half price.

    Red Top.

Think I've already admitted that, but thanks for the input. What I'm really after, is anyone with any experience with the Optima batteries, so just ignore the back story (my mistake for including it).

Nope, quick charge, and all's good. In all fairness, the battery has been a bit crap for a while. I haven't even been able to charge my phone, unless the motors running, with out draining the battery for months.

So having gone out to the Defender this morning and the bugger refuses to start again (nothing but clicking noises). I've ordered myself an Optima Red top Battery (I've checked the alternator it's fine). Anyone with any experience? I'm told they're the dogs shiny bits.

  21. OK, Punt gun.
  22. 12 Bore. Never fails.
  23. Personally I would never buy a secondhand saw saw in this sort of size, a big saw, yes, but smaller saws tend to get a lot of use, and abuse and so make a pretty risky second hand buy. Go new, get a 560xp.
  24. From the sounds of it, you could be opening yourself up to a complete nightmare. If you have no experience, then you cannot say for sure if a tree needs dismantling or felling (even smallish trees sometimes cannot be straight felled safely). I would suggest that you abandon your plans to start a business and go and get some experience (and tickets) working for someone else. After a few years you might be in a position to think about starting up on your own, but without knowing what you are doing, you are heading down a road that will ultimately lead to a lot of unhappy customers and a lot of unpaid invoices. Miserable for all parties.
