  1. Tree Jack wasn't it. Must say I really fancy one.
  2. Always use my local dealers, but I'm always sure to get a best price off the web first and go armed with that. They always seem to get pretty close.
  3. Must have been past your place. I did all the rights of way clearance in Ottery St.Mary this summer. Nice parish to work in and I met some great people. Including one of the local farmers, who I had good chat about the Beavers with. He seemed all in favour of keeping them. Mind you, he does have a camp site, so I suppose they are only going to help business. BTW, Love that weir in the town, and the clouds of Sand Martins over the river.
  4. Private collection?
  5. Not sure I'm familiar with any inner circles. I do have a Degree in Ecology, and I do work in wildlife and habitat management some of the time. I also try to make a point of reading only peer reviewed papers when forming an opinion on this sort of thing. I am a keen shooter of many things, but I wouldn't dream of letting a muppet like Alasdair Mitchell have any influence on my thinking (Alasdair Mitchell is used for illustrative purposes only). I guess what I'm saying is that you can't listen to the opinions of anyone with a vested interest in any subject, if you want to know the truth, look elsewhere. Not entirely sure I would describe Ted as an environmentalist as such. More the kind of thinking forester most of us can only dream of becoming. Imagine Oliver Rackham with a 390xp.
  6. Wildlife CAN be bothersome. If only it could be more considerate.
  7. I'm sorry, just so we're clear, you're basing your argument on photographs?
  8. Turnover ain't as bad as some of those cars (Marina, what were you thinking man) I do like a Saab though. What are the ones in bold?
  9. Some people will never see the bigger picture.
  10. Not a question of them being cute. They are an outstanding landscape engineering species and, in many areas, would do much to alleviate flooding (yes I do understand the difference between European and American). I had a conversation with Ted Green some years ago, during which he gave forth on his opinions about Beavers. I have to say, I agree with him.
  11. That may just be one of the coolest bits of kit I've ever lusted after. Want it so bad.
  12. No, you have to do that yourself. Not part of the X-Box generation myself, so I find it easy.
  13. I do know the Quo's tour manager, Patrick, top bloke, and I went to school with Ricks son (plonker).
  14. Really, bet you're better with a saw than they are!
  15. why not such a good idea?
  16. I would have been willing to haggle a little, but he wanted 25% off the asking price! Maybe he gets away with it often enough to make it worthwhile.
  17. Looks cheap.
  18. Sold one recently. It's the people who do my head in. I always ask a fair price and make all my descriptions honest. but people still want to haggle. One guy came offered £2k less than the asking price and wouldn't budge. I told him I was sorry he'd had a wasted journey, but that I thought it was probably time he left as I wasn't going to sell it to him for that money. He asked me for the money to cover his fuel costs! Just shut the door in his face.
  19. Ah, feeling a bit foolish now.
  20. Unfortunately, it's widespread over there, in fact, it is in most rainforest systems.
  21. Don't use one of these cards though. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/other-offers/52166-wooden-business-cards.html
  22. Not making any judgements on the people who did this. The corruption of the government and logging companies does stagger belief though. Loggers Accidentally Cut Down World’s Oldest Tree in Amazon Forest
  23. Got to admit, my Dad had a Kia Sportage. I drove it up from Perth WA to Kalbarri on the roads and then round Kalbarri National park for a week and then back to Perth. It really impressed me, was a 3.5 v6 though, not sure I'd like to pay for the petrol in the UK.
  24. Punk. Music has never been so much fun.
  25. For those of you who've forgotten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjUEwXJcBjY
