  4. Thoughts are with the friends and family of this very talented brave member of our services. Words cant express the feeling or pride I had when I watched them just a few weeks ago as they performed at the festival of speed in Sussex. I hope this isnt the begining of the end for another British great.
  5. My plan of attack would be to strip and chip by 1pm and then section and lower the limbs in the afternoon. Day 2 would be ringing up the butt and a good rake round and tidy up finishing around 4. Down here a job like that COULD range in price from £800 to £1800 depending on the experience or lack of it of the person quoting.
  6. Looks like Eucryphia family But then Im nearly always wrong
  7. Cheers for your thoughts I only came up with the idea 10 minutes before I posted on here so very much in the infancy stages. Just get fed up when a limb needs lifting a couple of feet to free it and thought a little winch would help. I could use a fiddle block but winches are more my thing I here where you coming from with refrence to electric and your right. A Tirfor is alot larger than anything I was thinking about Just a small hand winch is more in tune with My thoughts
  8. Looking at the prices of the electric winches with remotes! Now thats the way to go Anybody recomend one for around the £100 mark ?
  9. 2500LB Hand Boat Marine Trailer Winch 5M Cable 2 Speed | eBay Something like this maybe Im going to give it ago but I thought Id see if anybody on here had done this sort of thing before and if so if they had any ideas or tips Ill knock something up over the weekend with a winch Ive got in the shed and post the pictures if anybody is interested
  10. A simple push stick could be used to advance or retract the prussic so that the lenght of pull on the winch line could be a decent ammount and not just a couple of feet
  11. Just wondering if a hand winch could be mounted on a backing plate below a lowering block like a Rc3001 and used in conjunction with a prussic to lift or pull limbs. Your thoughts please
  12. I got the same story from a chap selling a timberwolf on Ebay back in March.
  13. Strange you should ask this question as I was thinking of ditching my boxer shorts in favour of Y-fronts for the added warmth and support, but now you've got me worried as the last thing I want is to start tweeking Myself .

  23. Ill let the land owner have it . He is building up quite a collection of items I've found over the last couple of years and shows them to visitors to the farm as well as the local archaeologists.
  24. Some really good answers but only Bigfell was close with roman gold I went out with the metal detector on a local farm and found a 3000 year old bronze socket axe . It's the first one to be found on the farm and the land owner was just as pleased as Me. It's not worth a great deal but the thought of a chap in the same trade as us 1000 BC wandering around with what was at the time the hight of technology just conjures up all sorts of images in My pee brain.
  25. Ok Ill post the pictures tonight
