  6. Im glad I posted on here for the advice I have been given so far . Im thinking a bell tent for around the £500 mark is the best value so far. Id love to make my own and Im confident in the green wood working side and even the steam bending but the canvas is tricky bit.
  7. Thanks Mutley for taking the time to post the info is a great help Dont laught but my reason for being shocked at the price of a tipi is probably because Id go for a real big one and they are about 2k . It was a really weird experience walking into the tipi at Bentley it just felt right if you know what I mean.
  8. Can you have a stove in them John ?
  9. Hi in 2011 I saw a tipi tent at the Bentley wood fair and ever since I have wanted one, I have 2 kids and want to spend as many weekends camping this year as possible. The advantages are I can have a log burner in side to take the chill off the air as one of my girls really does'nt get on with being cold. And the space inside is unreal, modern tents just seem to plastic and carbon fibre to me. I have found a few sites selling them but the prices are mind blowing to say the least, I was thinking a sail maker might be able to stitch one up. Just thought id ask the Mega mind that is arbtalk for any ideas
  10. Shame the chap that gave me a demo didnt show me that, I was tempted to px 2 grinders in for the hb but that was one of the things that put me off.
  11. Had mine about 8 years, if you do buy 1 get the multi tip wheel fitted rather than the super teeth, it makes a good machine great.
  12. I heard you grind them up and put them in your eyes to make you look hard.
  13. Easy to flip and cant be moved unless you have the engine running.
  14. My old man used to point the sc posts with a chainsaw and start a fire with them to burn the ends of the point , he said the same as you that it stopped them rotting
  15. Made a few of these and gave them out to customers, the plan is to freeze wind falls and then keep the feeder stocked through the winter.
  16. Remember lads that water is just as important as food so make sure the bird baths are topped up
  17. I think an effort like that deserves it s own thread
  18. Barry is there any reason the prices say tax when they normally say vat ?
  19. A real bright clear and easy to use format, it gets a thumbs up from me
  20. Thought I'd take the kids upto Bury hill but the battery was dead on the Ml so first thing was to jump start it with the old suzuki sj, then just got stuck in traffic so decided after to come home where by the electric window switch broke with the window down bloomin typical. So far im £95 quid down £50 in the fuel tank to top it up and a bill for the electric window switches.
  21. I have a 1984 sj 410 and used to to tow all sorts a 150 wouldnt be a problem.
  22. Id put it down for a reduction just to be on the safe side.
  23. I bought a wessex 10 ton hydraulic splitter last week to run off the 265 and I found that if I grab the right hand lever and place my wrist over the top of the left lever it lowers the splitter just fine, the reverse lifts with just one lever being raised. I wont mod the splitter because others will be using it and I wont be showing them what I do, if they have a mishap then its their own fault and not mine for modding the machine
  24. Real pleased for you Grandad to the point that Ill have a cider tonight aswell, well it would be rude not to
