  1. Yes i do agree but ive been cutting a lot of alder recently and im amased how diffrent the wood and the bark can be in the same tree . When i have cut and moved straight in to shed it hasnt gone orange andit looks very much like said picture so all though i agree im not convinced
  2. LIME YES IT COULD BE Or it could be alder i know the bark looks diffrent but the wood has red flecks the same as alder !
  3. Lime maybe or could it be alder that has a red fleck and when cut its full of sap so hence it burning . [not good for the chimmney though]

  6. I have a short hook for the small stuff 4inch cord and the big hookeroon for all the big stuff i can move a 20 inch by 6ft ash log with ease . The stihl one,s are the best ive found a quick flick of the handdle and the point pops out unlike others ive tryed where you have to fight to get the point out
  7. Good luck mate ive had 100t+ stacked for 3 years and cant give it away its a shame caz its dry as a bone and we burn it ourselfs and it burns very well but quite quickly. On the bright side at least ive got 10 years worth of firewood.
  8. Would love to take it but its to far from me [herefordshire] im desprate to get timber on the floor for next year. Enyway good luck im sure it will go at that price .
  9. Worker as a steel erecter for ten years useing impact guns for 10 hours a day. Retrained at 28 into forestry treework groundcare and white finger is becoming a huge problem i wear the anti vibe gloves but they dont seem to work . Does anybody know of ways to releive it .

  11. Im based down by ludlow and would be very intrested in taking 50 tones of hardwood off you asap could even find you a nice compact tractor to let me know what you think or give us a bell on 07964947272 plus a mate of mine is allways on the look out for nice oak for milling
  12. You cant go wrong with a rodeo i traded my d22 [after i spent 5k on a rebuild] in for a 3l sport cant folt it in eny way grate on fuel loads of power and pulls a trailer eny where you cant go wrong
  13. Check out thor you cant beat em built to last and will split everything you throw at it . When i bought our thor i spent ages ringing round getting demo s i could not afford to get it wrong in the end got a thor from joe turnner and its spot on.

To be fair when i bought my splitter i looked at riko and they were very helpfull and got back to me with in 2 days and answered all my e mails promtley in the end i bought a thor magik from Joe turner . I will be going to riko to buy a log saw as there cheaper than the thor ones but look just as well made.

  17. Can anybody help I'm looking for quality timber in or around herefordshire for firewood standing or roadside I'm interested in any amounts. I would also be interested in anyone that could supply me with lorry loads of cord hardwood . I'm new to this site and would be grateful if anyone could help me out.
