  1. i think if i was doing it again i would do lots of sit-ups to tone up my tummy muscles for all the body thrusting. no need to be nervous, just go with the flow and enjoy the week
  2. my 99 transit (non turbo) became very smokey after overheating due to water pump failure .i assumed the rings had been damaged until i lent it to a friend who changed the ebd valve (in manifolds to reburn exhaust gasses) cured smoke ,ran for 3 more years. might be worth a try
  3. mewp for take downs, light reductions, high hedges. climbing for work within crown, line clearance, and non accessable stuff. there will always be loads to climb and its more enjoyable if you dont have to climb every day (or maybe thats just me)
  4. we use them for tw190 and jenson no probs at all
  5. i.ve noticed some jap larches locally that have died over the last year. when i suggested to the local forester that it might be wise to have them looked at, he didn,t want to know.

  8. a friend of mine was told a stihl part was unavailable a few weeks ago, cathcarts enniskellin had one in stock, might be worth a call 028 66324325 (maybe 048 from uk, not sure)
  9. my last order from honey bros arrived in less than 24hrs in connemara, far west of ireland
  10. very sorry to hear about this. tried to donate last night but irish card would not work. just wondering ,would it work over phone tomorrow?
  11. often wondered , could 3 ton hitachi drive cone splitter ?
  12. very good point. i notice that ,in ireland anyway, a lot of young lads have gone straight from cs30 ,31 to 38 39 with little or no experience of chainsaw work whereas us fossils spent years sawing in the woods before getting into climbing
  13. yes. found it very interesting
  14. i used to 1 hand quite a bit and it does take its tole on ones joints. as an employer i have to practice what i preach in front of my climbers. cutting 2 handed is so much easier on the body. i see lots of different crews working and the amount of reckless 1 hand cutting, cutting and holding, and cutting with just one attachment is quite disturbing.
  15. i remember reading an article about them in forestry journal. i think around 2 years ago
  16. izuzu
  17. i use a brash grab i got from m large ( on ex 30) very strong grab can handle logs. brash ,feed pto chipper, pull gorse briars etc . great tool

    husqvarna 268

think they came after 266. they had a boxy filter cover simular to a 262. was v heavy on fuel
  23. oil may have gone up into cylinders. you may need to remove the injectors to and turn the flywheel manually to clear cyinders. you will know if it has seized if you cart turn flywheel. fingers crossed !
  24. hi rowan. you can feed splitter through tractor spool by tying lever in position (some valves have levers that can hold on by themselves) the oil will stay cooler if you run the return from the splitter directly to the oil resevoir/back end
  25. like the denim chainsaw trousers
