1. The Bank manager, the Wife, credit card companies etc, all jobs on a price are under pressure, not a criticism of Ross at all but you cannot say a job "takes as long as it takes" unless you are on a day rate.
2. Joking aside you do have a point! 6 days!!
3. Here we go! "educating clients" what a crock of **** Why do some people always believe clients are clueless idiots and we are the sacred holders of some mystical knowledge. The client was fully aware of all the options and chose this for their tree.
4. Too right! I run two burners, 1 in the kitchen (godin 13kw) and I in the sitting room ((franco belge 17kw) Only the best Oak and Chestnut and Acacia for me! give the rest away. That's one thing the wife cannot moan about, house is toasty (minus 5 last night)
5. Like others I am old school and use a prussik/blakes hitch. But I like the simplicity of the zig zag having seen the videos. I will definitley get one when they come out.
6. Looks good anway, you can't take it with you!
7. Looks very nice, have they lost a couple ? (see some brown ones)
8. Yep, both of those tips, Easy peasy, (but don't rush it!)
9.

Hi again Steve,

Would it be possible to change my user name from the rather boring STUMPGRINDER to

LE SANGLIER please. Ps love the site!

10. So have I, I've even free climbed up an easy conifer and had to come down to get a climbing line.
11. Did you shoot John Lennon ?
12. 'course, but imagine an average tree surgeons week. 3 reductions 3 hedges and 2 medium take downs, 8ins is overkill. A 6in TW is the perfect compromise, will outperform most groundys ie he is not constantly waiting for it, and will sit on the back of the tranny without too much gear and clutch abuse.
13. You're right Dan, there are some great bigger chippers at reasonable prices but..I have had a bigger chipper and there is the issues of moving them around by hand and towing behind a Transit size vehicle. (weight wise)
14. Because they were charging too much for their work. In the old days bricklayers were charging ridiculous day rates; then eastern europeans came in and charged less; What do you need to be a bricklayer? A car and a bag full of tools. Plus the experience of course but the immigrants had that as well.
15. As a foreign national working abroad I say look to yourself rather than blame others. I pay my dues to the government and what I charge is my business.
16. You're bound to get loads of naysayers on here, but they are the best selling chipper for a reason! I've got one and I love it.
17. I agree, you cannot blame the DJs for it, complete over-reaction.
18. Ok google "chargeur frontal plus" it's on their website called "the criquet" the factory is one hour from me so I went to have a look. Made here not in China. See what you think! can put an auger on the front aswell. Mick
19. Thanks, For €3000 you can have this in kit form, ordered mine last week. will lift 350kg, plus there is a grab option (which I am having ....natch!)
20. This has been knocking around for years and I am ashamed to say I fell for it. I don't consider myself an easy mark either.
21. If you don't mind me asking, how much did that set you back?
22. And how did the decay/dysfunction test go (out of curiosity)
23. Ok done it, have to put in a uk postcode.
24. I am finding it devilishly difficult to buy the tickets; It goes on to the charity website but won't let me log on with my arbtalk password.
25. 'bout right, cannot learn it on your own.
