  1. Had a Rascal when I was 17 oh how I loved when you put it into a corner hard lifted the back wheel. But not as good a fun flying down the road banging the brakes on and off and on again quickly and lifting the two back wheels 2 ft in the air. Those where the days taking the girls a run in the sooty bus.
  2. I had a Combo with the Isuzu engine great engine yes but as for a nice drive no. There old hat now, you would be wanting something a bit fresher than an old clapped out Combo surely. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  3. A VW Caddy, Ford Connect best two I would say or a Partner-Berlingo all good in there own way. There good on juice and you can get moon miles out of the engines with regular oil and filter changes. Or as said the Astra van ain't bad there isn't many bad small vans now a days IMO there just a car variant.
  4. Tidy wee job that, could have been a bit higher but the fact that you used only want you had over rules that, good job.
  5. Anything that has tread on them and doesn't cost over £120 a piece. I think some people buy there tyres more for a fashion statement than the do the use of them.
  6. I like a a mix 75% soft 25% hard small bit of coal, cracking fire, well seasoned soft wood is fine. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  7. Should have got a pic of the three monkeys there very impressive. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  8. Worked with a man all week who has a brand year old one and he loves it. There nice finished and they look the ticket. I have a a few shoguns and I like the Mitsubishi's, there as good as as anything else IMO. And as for the recurring statement about soft clutches well I have never had any problems. A bad driver can soon wreak a good clutch. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  9. If the weather is like last year you won't be long going through it.

It all depends how fussy you are on what you burn.

A total company on the oranmore drive of the blacks road is selling those ton builder bags of mixed but mostly soft wood for £35 it £40 but £5 is a deposit for the bag.

It's does fine for a wood burning stove, are you cutting yourself or are you buying of boys or what?

  10. You will be fine, just take your time and think before you do anything it's not a race.
  11. Nope sorry buddy not a bit left but I will keep you in mind.

  12. It would have to be a 2100 to be talking any money like that surely. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  13. Very neat and tidy. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  14. Ring the man and he will tell you what the rate is.
  15. You say that but i read these firewood threads and think the same thing all the time. What sell's for x in one place might only sell for y in another. There is micro economy's all over the country. As for the wood i was saying about, people buy it and sell it on for £50 and the seller knows that, he doesn't seem to mind so everybody's happy.
  16. These questions get asked all the time and i think you will get a few different answers. For employer and insurance yes but that would only ever be a problem if the hurt someone and there was a claim. Well that's my view anyway am sure the country is full of men doing things without the appropriate tickets, it's ok's until it all goes wrong i suppose.
  17. I can buy the ton builders bags mixed but mostly soft wood for £35 and there is a piles of them sale.
  18. Am no Mog expert but am going to say not a chance is it worth 50k, I would say your mate got a bit excited when he was telling you all about it.
  19. ......
  20. Cut from chainsaw, ie during sharping not use. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  21. Just buy a box of tacho chart and fill them out manually on the back of them. That way it would be neat and tidy and all the spaces are there for date reg and stuff. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  22. Yes and i agreed with you, but if you don't want to wear them for whatever reason you come up with you don't have to. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  23. The new guidelines says you should where them not that you have to wear them. Sent from my aye phone using Tapatalk
  24. I think it was a good enough job secondly if I could get anyway with not wearing certain PPE I would not wear it, and I know plenty of other that think the same. And as for the super safety conscious attitude, that's why there is so many crazy unnecessary law rules and regulations regarding any type of manual work in the UK. Even our prime minister admitted it at his conference this week. And I quote "Britannia never ruled the waves with it's armband on" He was referring to health and safety and red tape in passing new laws in parliament.
  25. I agree with all that and felt just the same as you. BUT when you sit down and think long and hard about what you really need your work vehicle to do then landrover is one of the better ways to go imo. And I have had loads of shoguns there biggest fault is if the derv pump goes you need 2kto fix it.
