  1. single cab vauxhall brava 4x4 with load handler. can't fault it!
  2. shame it's not a willow, would've loved the extra water it's bound to fill up with, as is probably wont do it any favours at all!
  3. ah i see, i guess we've each got individual limitations to work around. i'm currently devising a plan for filling barrow bags efficiently... i'll keep you all posted with progress, once the patent is in place of course:sneaky2:
  4. tidy job there, but i'm puzzled by these big bag holders... you're going to have to move the bag at some point, probably with pallet forks, so why not just hold the bags open with them in the first place?
  5. here ya go [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k4Xk1mEwmI]YouTube - ‪massive climb up antenna station‬‏[/ame]
  6. now you've gotta have a look at "kill drill"! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phVi3JC3jGs&NR=1]YouTube - ‪Kill Drill‬‏[/ame]
  7. i bet he does a mean topiary job:sneaky2:
  8. Tarpaulin,Trailer cover,Made to measure tarpaulin, PolyTarp,Canvas,Boat cover had baz brackenbury make a couple of spec sheets for me, a roll-over cover for a farm trailer and a tarpaulin for a conventional baler. brilliant guys there and open to a deal with firewood involved...
  9. best of luck then, hope it goes well for you!
  10. all depends on work involved in extraction and what kit you've already got so don't need to buy. you'll have to sit down and work out the costs.
  11. unlikely, can't be doing with the mileage. are you competing ian?
  12. i was planning on a dose of glyphosate around the base of the fence every so often, so i expect to be able to keep the vegetation in check. access is no problem and the site is less than half a mile from home with no public access. thanks for the heads up on ebay packages, i didn't even think to look there! the info and prices i got from a proprietary electric fencing company, all looks pretty good from here. i figure i'm only going to need the protection for say the first 3 years after cutting, after which i can dismantle the fence and store it away for use again at the next time of coppicing. just seems like a far better long term investment then splashing out on permanent deer fencing which would be looking the worse for wear come the next rotation...
  13. have just read through this thread again and found that there was no mention of electric fencing, is this telling...? i've done a price up on enough materials to go around 4 acres (allowing for extra). seemingly good quality stuff including leisure battery comes out at £596.52 + VAT, seems pretty good to me, what's the catch??
  14. the market is there but as with everything it's all about cost. i focus more on quality than quantity, i'd rather sell less for more if you get my drift. still a potential 10,000 bag order isn't bad so long as both parties keep their side of the deal... re the perforated bags they still need to be stored out of sunlight for them to not condensate, no matter how dry the material inside
  15. depends how you intend to process, if it means making a payout of £1000's on a modern kindling machine then obviously it's a long term loss, if you can pick up a cheap older machine then that's better but then you have the associated probs of second hand... there's a couple of guys on here who hire out the machines, but would mean intensive kindling for a couple of weeks to make the most of the hire charge and you'd need the room to store firstly the unprocessed material and then the finished product. price wise i'm looking to sell 3kg packs in clear plastic (not perforated) at £2.00 wholesale this season. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/22165-kindling-worth-effort.html
  16. everyone's welcome!
  17. excellent, over 3 years old and some on their 6th or 7th use, very well UV stabilized and decent stitching. i'm about to buy another 100 from the same place subject to current price, the last lot i bought worked out at about £4.80 + VAT. speak to maurice:thumbup1:
  18. when i bought mine from bagsupplies.com they came in bundles of 20.
  19. may be able to source some from a friend, will give him a ring tomorrow
  20. whats the offer...?
  21. how are you going to move the bags when they're full...? i'm guessing with a side arm hoist on you truck or similar? the trouble with filling a bag like this is that when it is "full" it's really not, the bag needs jouncing to allow the logs to settle, this will only happen in transit otherwise, resulting in a bag that doesn't look full when you get to the customers:sneaky2:
  22. I've no experience with power packs but it's something i briefly looked into for the same reason. i say briefly because my IH 856xl has a flow rate of 30lpm and i have to run her pretty hard to give a sensible speed on my splitter (not sure of splitter capacity, or in fact how to test... any info on this greatly received). however on my CX 80 (nigh on 60lpm), just tick over gives fantastic cylinder speed, might have to try that at full pelt just to see how fast she can go! Point being that i was put off from power packs as to provide the speed to be efficient i think you'd have to spend some serious money:thumbdown:
  23. haha, i just rang fuelwood to get the price i quoted, i'm afraid i didn't even think to shop around as i wasn't looking for one for myself:blushing:
  24. Around £300 + VAT
  25. liking the dummy's lunge!
