  1. I split the kindling on a machine like this, but with an electric motor and not on the floor! I would get a pic of my one but wife has gone out with the camera:thumbdown: main trouble is packing the stuff, I use plastic bags then heat seal, get a nice finish but v time consuming:blushing:
  2. nearly Suffolk... Halstead in North Essex. Am at the "more than I could manage by hand, but can't justify a Kindlet" stage. Supplying 2 farm shops and 4 hardware stores...
  3. Not on your head David...
  4. hmmm, thinking of getting one myself. was also thinking maybe of fitting up plywood frame either side of wheel arches to form a hopper, not sure if the convenience of not raking/clearing out would justify the loss in usable area...
  5. Hello Dave, I only joined Arbtalk a few days ago, but reading this thread brought back memories of my stay in hospital... working for a local woodyard unloading 30ft lengths oak with a forklift, log slipped on load whilst placing bearers and crushed my foot. Young bones healed quickly thankfully. Anyway, what I want to say is don't skimp on the exercises that the physio folks give you. 5 years on and I'm sure I would have benefited more from sticking with the regime, never wanted to give time to the repetitious stretching and moving etc, felt I needed to get on with my work. Now I have to force my foot to work properly first thing in mornings and when it's really cold. Point is that the work will still be there when you're as mobile as you can be, but you'll only have the one chance for the exercises to do the most good as you heal. Sorry for the lecture, but made me think when I visited the consultant 6 months after going back to work, he warned that I may need further surgery in my later years to ease pain, partly due to my not following physio to the letter. A donation has been made and I wish you all the best during your recovery and beyond. Chris G
  6. nearly all of my logs i cut green, let season in the vented bulk bags, then empty bulk bags into a trailer and net up for the farm shops. biggest prob i have is emptying them, loops on the bottom all well and good but stitching could be stronger... have now made up a metal pallet that i strap the bag to and then strap the lot to the forks, tips like a bucket. bit of a faff tho :-( any other suggestions?
