  9. Thanks to those who've messaged me, I should state that anybody else who is thinking of taking me up on the 5% off for orders for this coming week, I need to know today by 6pm as I'll be separating fat pigs to go for slaughter tonight. Just take a look at the price folks, you'd struggle to get that amount of top quality sausages alone for much less than the price of a half pig, let alone all the joints, chops, and belly strips!
  10. Evening folks, can I interest any of you local to me in a half pig for your deep freeze? All cut to your specification, labelled, bagged ready for the freezer and delivered within 20 miles of Halstead, Essex. Of course you can always collect. The halves work out at around £110-£140 inclusive of around 16-20lbs of sausages. Available from next week through until the middle of May. If you can take it next week on either the 18th or the 19th of April then I am offering a 5% discount!!
  11. Thanks Jammy, it means a lot that a relative stranger should make such a comment! I'm doing a stall at an Easter Fair this Sun and Mon at a local garden centre called Plants That Grow, this project and the gate will be coming with me along with all sorts of other paraphernalia including tasters for my beef and pork! really looking forward to it!
  12. got the bug now... just finished making my second project, a free standing room divider fence for my son, took ages getting it super smooth, but am very pleased with the result and he and most importantly the wife appears to be too!

  14. Looks great jammy, i really like the dark finish you've given it. how long did it take you roughly?
  15. So, nearly a year after posting in this thread I finally get around to making a gate! Apologies to Cracker on this, I've shamelessly copied the design of one of your's, but, the froe and drawknife you made for me were amongst the tools used to make this one. This is my first go at a gate, (I made a shavehorse not long after this thread was started and it has sat around gathering dust since.) I really enjoyed making this, and I hope I may be able to have it as another string to the bow and part of my business, bring on the orders!!
  16. Rob, unless you're looking to set up as a wholesale producer then it will be far less hassle to buy in, I would offer myself up as your supplier, but as has been said, transport would be the limiting factor...
