  1. If it was my trees and timber, I wouldn't want someone putting hundreds of screws round the woodland. Even cheap rope (like 8mm blue polyprop) would probably do, assuming no risk of falling on the public. I don't know what the speaker bracket looks like, maybe you could ditch the ply and tie the bracket directly. Or use planks, faster to cut than ply
  2. How many speakers? A few or hundreds? Small ratchet straps at a couple quid each doesn't seem a huge investment, and reuse them for many years and events to come https://www.amazon.co.uk/FixKit-10-Piece-Ratchet-Metres-Maximum/dp/B07BCXNCSS/ref=sr_1_7?adgrpid=52569208069&dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwit_8BRCoARIsAIx3Rj4D0p3lBv9jP14NgKROygcv4TEZs7uOsBwOesnIQETaV5maLmq_s2kaAvDOEALw_wcB&hvadid=259105460341&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=20342&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=8875248119825316789&hvtargid=kwd-320128442874&hydadcr=883_1804250&keywords=25mm+ratchet+straps&qid=1603837942&sr=8-7&tag=googhydr-21 you can probably get them cheaper
  3. I shouldn't say too much, standing behind a (small) chipper pays a (small) part of the mortgage, but there's occasions when it feels like verging on a waste of time. An old saying I always think of is "He who pays the piper, choses the tune"
  4. I gotta say I do think chipping is sometimes done a bit too often. I think it must be human nature to leave a 'tidy' job, or it's just what is expected. There was a lot of work done in a woodland locally, paid for by some kind of grant. Cutting all the small stuff to open it out, leaving all the decent trees. Anything under 6" or whatever went through the tracked chipper. Obviously working to the spec provided. But you get the feeling if the brash was just left, it would've rotted faster than the mountains of chip all round the woodland, would've saved days/weeks of a diesel engine blaring away, and less ground disturbance.
  5. Always worth keeping an eye out at charity shops/gumtree for used office furniture/shop fittings etc "Link 51" storage bins are very strong, but not cheap
  6. I've always thought a beer is good, but a beer and a burger is better!!
  7. The streetview is 11yrs old and looks like a different postbox.
  8. From my experience, the blades from rotatech/northern arb are fine. It's just the customer service that is terrible!
  9. I think the "40v" is just a name for marketing, it's a "36v" system - a 36v battery fully charged is actually 42v.
  10. What about barrow bags (they are about the size of a wheelie bin) and a sack truck Or one of these type of trolleys Brash Cart - TCF ENGINEERING WWW.TCFENGINEERING.CO.UK Our Brash Cart is ideal for tree surgeons, gardeners and foresters to move brash, logs, timber and chip. Or you could maybe have some sort of track barrow/power barrow
  11. Still not been a single covid patient in the covid hospital Questions raised over £400k contract to manage shut-down of NHS Louisa Jordan WWW.HERALDSCOTLAND.COM OPPOSITION politicians have questioned a decision to appoint a company to manage the shut-down of Scotland’s emergency Covid-19 hospital at a…
  12. Talking of numbers, me and my other half don't know a single person who has been tested as having covid, but know 2 people (in their 20s/30s) who have been prescribed with anti depressants in the last few months.
  13. Nevermind aspen, run everything you can on electricity
  14. Not the answer to your question, but you can get a 2nd hand petrol hydraulic power pack starting at a few hundred £, or a diesel for more.
  15. It's all swings and roundabouts aint it. Some weeks you're flat out doing evenings, saturdays, sundays, not a single day off. Other weeks you're quieter, or manage to sneak a day off midweek when the weather's good, and go off wild swimming when everyone else is trudging off to their boring office job. I quite like working weekends, the roads are quieter in the morning/evening, and you always seem more likely to get tips/cake/pies etc!

    Fuel cans

https://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/portabable-petrol-storage-containers.pdf Some places will send you packing, other places don't care. Supermarket petrol stations are usually the worst, I avoid them.
