  1. Definitely a scam, apologies, a dodgy Google news feed!!
  2. Haven't heard that sort of language since my primary school days...spacky would have done.
  3. The neighbour has broken two laws:- Trespass which is a civil law so the police won't help unless he damaged property or broke in. And Criminal damage which they may well assist with. If criminal damage is proved in court, the neighbour may well be told to replace the tree with one as similar as is possible plus costs. The neighbour is an arsehole and you just need to work out what you need to do to ensure he knows it and knows you aren't a pushover. Legal action is bloody expensive and perhaps a solicitors cease and desist letter to basically squeeze his gonads, pointing out the laws he broke and then replace the tree if it doesn't survive...a Robina may be a good choice. The twat needs to know he has broken laws and they have consequences. Some neighbours are complete bell ends!
  4. Got two Air arms, one springer, one PCP, no complaints at all.
  5. I took it as legit as I recognized the supermarket brand but perhaps it is just a black Friday swizz☹️
  6. Here you go, a tool for arb types with filthy tools.... DOUBLE CYLINDRE MECHANICOFFER.SHOP Features • Particularly suitable for devices requiring high power, such as pneumatic impact wrenches or pneumatic breakers•...
  7. If the neighbour came on to your side of the boundary or cut the tree on your side of the boundary without your agreement, he needs a bit of a wake up in regards of garden law!
  8. This is the one I have used for the last 15 years...the TT 20K Workshop model, not the cheapest but does the job well: - Handheld Tachometers | Design Technology, Inc., Home of Tiny-Tach TINYTACH.COM Handheld tachometers for gas and diesel engines.
  9. I usually use a wrecking bar to dig a deep small diameter hole to fit the post and then backfill around it, this worked this summer on some pretty hard ground.
  10. Glad the early signs are positive.
  11. Yup, a model number and pics can save a hundred words!! If it is just the rods, that is OK but if the gears are shot, that is another story. I have rebuilt many of these heads, the last one had been at another outfit for a year and they couldn't remove the input bearings🤔
  12. Coming off the subject of housing, my, now departed, dad gave me two pearls of wisdom....yes, join the companies pension scheme and...take a look at PEPs...the forerunner of ISAs...both were solid bits of advice IMO.
  13. I second the EDPM roof. My Tuin Gazebo came with it as standard which was another reason I went for it. It is easy to use and reckon it should last 25 years plus the material is used as pond liner so is durable and more importantly....waterproof.
  14. If you go for a typical wood shed, log cabin type, look at Tuin in Brooke Norfolk. They are very good, decent quality and don't mess around on delivery. I got one of their gazebos, very impressed with all aspects and the timber was very dry plus packed very well.
  15. It all depends on when the failure occurs!!
  16. I am glad I stayed out of this....all I can add is that "Belt and Braces" basically means a back up solution to ensure if the first fails, the second will ensure carnage doesn't occur. In this example, we are looking at keeping ones trousers up hence the "Belt" and "Braces" reference. If the belt snaps, the braces keeps your strides up, if the braces break, the belt will do a fine support job. Blimey, I can't believe that needs explaining......I take it you know what "braces" are?

Nothing wrong with the 260, decent enough bit of kit, pistons can get slappy, carbs can get fidgety and the wiring can earth out through wear on that top AV mount but we are talking after much abuse.
  18. L&S are pretty much the best for getting Stihl/Husqvarna parts, on carb bits, try Rowena Motors. They have an exhaustive knowledge of carbs and are usually, IMO, very helpful. The only difficulty will be if the carb is a Stihl specific OEM carb and not based on a generic design, you do come across this sometimes. Rowena Motors WWW.ROWENACARBS.CO.UK Authorised dealers of Walbro, Zama and Tillotson carburetor and carburetor parts for lawn mowers, karts, brushcutters, and other light engines. Based in the UK, trading internationally.
  19. I missed the response, as previously mentioned, if the plating is not scored through, clean the bore up chemically, abrade the oxide off, lightly hone/rub the bore with wet and dry and then fit a new piston. Just be aware that the OEM bore is an odd 44.3mm so the replacement piston needs to be the same and not 44mm or 45mm.
  20. This is good advice on the OPs first post. I drained a lot of tanks when running much of my business via courier and used to put the fuel through a funnel with a home made fine gauze strainer and used to get loads of sawdust and shyte/old fuel filters out of the tank including water. How many find the carb gauze strainer is full of crap and don't go back to draining and straining the fuel tank? You should....a decent post.
  21. The silverside bore is 44.3mm. what is wrong with the cylinder? You may get a good result just fitting a new piston. OEM, Meteor, Hyway in that order are best.
  22. You may get away with it on up to a 60cc saw but the 372 is too big an engine for a 1.3mm chain unless it is for speed trials or personal amusement.
  23. Just read this again, the idle screw turned all the way in should bring the saw up to mid revs. If you get no increase in revs, the saw is either running very rich or something else is amiss. Are all the linkages on the carb working and fitted correctly? The strato air valve should open as the main throttle valve opens. Is the saw picking up and revving out OK and the issue is just the idle?
  24. If you haven't got a garden, are there any work groups, allotments, historic homes that need volunteers. At worst, you may meet some decent people. You sound a bit like my younger brother.
  25. Have you got a garden eggs? Gardening lifts the soul, is a good workout and anchors you to the seasons. Old Jeremy Clarkson says he didn't have a clue before he farmed! Get a decent winter project on, those gloomy days need filling with something uplifting!
