  1. There's a small chance there is one in my pile of dead saws, I'll have a look tomorrow. Don't hold your breath as I skipped a few recently but if it's there it's yours.
  2. I agree with the 8x40, 10x50 are good in a hide but always much bigger and heavier hence a bore to carry. I use 8x32 Swarovski and they are sublime. You get what you pay for. Look up you local rspb reserve, ours regularly have optic days where you can go an try loads of different types.
  3. I actually thought he was on a jumar and had put it on upside down. He went up on one. He wouldn't have gone that fast on a figure 8.
  4. We bought one from euro heat. They cover the whole spectrum from logs to chip to pellets. The buffer tanks are huge and you need a constant supply of dry wood but I wouldn't swap mine for anything. We also heat our neighbours house so got commercial rhi so have a 10k income for 20 years.
  5. There's one in farm machinery HM 6 300VM £27,5000 01908330900 Bucks area
  6. I bought one this year (uttings were the cheapest) it cost around £40 and probably saved me a couple of rounds at most. If you are fitting sights all the time it would be useful but I doubt I'll ever use it again now I'm set up. Interestingly I put it back in once rifle was sighted and the laser was miles off centre. At least an inch at 25m!
  7. I've got massive rounds of timber to process for firewood that are too big for my 20 tonne log splitter - any suggestions? I'm south east based and would ideally like to hire some kit (and operative) in. I've seen a large cone splitter I could mount on my telehandler but have rather a lot of machinery...
  8. Are you talking about the timber or the land?
  9. The first is a Washington thorn. I know cos I have one in my garden. There's more than 1 type, differences are minor.
  10. Timber is in Kent. I will pm anyone interested if we get the contract. It's useful to know I'm not going to be stuck with the wood. Several others pricing and it's a bigggie so we'll see.
  11. Anybody know what to do with around 150 tons of poplar? We are pricing a job and will be needing to shift it. Anything up to a foot will be chipped but this leaves a lot of butts up to 30" diameter.
  12. Aspen will be pleased to hear it wasn't their fuel that caused my saw to seize. Not sure why it overheated but it did. Full credit to honeys who repotted it and sent it back in 3 days!
  13. I'm going with alder too
  14. The secret is to not take all cuts right to the bottom. Take the first half way then three quarters and last one to within an inch. This will let it burn slower without falling apart. Needs 6 months in a shed too.
  15. Yes it was in red container. I will get it stripped down and report back.
  16. Just had my first experience with aspen. I was given 5 litres at the arb fair and thought I would give it a go in my ms660. First 2 tanks went great. 3rd tank used today and it's seized solid. Aspen will of course say nothing to do with the fuel, but it will take a lot of persuading to convince me it wasn't. Saw was only 3 years old too. Feeling gutted.
  17. Talking headsets to a really good pair, you can use a chainsaw and still hear the radio clear as a bell
  18. We have done quite a bit of cedar cladding on our buildings and I was surprised by the shrinkage, up to 1cm on a 3 m board. A few gaps appeared. Give it a least 2cm overlap too to be sure. If you can use stainless steel nails as well it makes a much better job as no staining. Well worth the extra cost.
  19. Trailers don't need mot, fuel or insurance. Saying that I would dump the 4 wheel drive and get a tipper. There are many more says that you need volume rather than grip, even in Cumbria.
  20. I made one and it's way better than the stein one. Much better balanced. I also sourced much better wheels that don't puncture. The only fault is the axle is slightly bent from overloading! Took about a day to make and cost me £40, most of which was the wheels. another would take half that time.
  21. Another search engine has come up with Halesia carolina it Carolina silverbells.
  22. I've had 5 schliesing machines from 550 Mog mounted to 235 tracked machine and they are the most reliable machines on the firm
  23. It's about the size of a fruit tree. The fruits shown are about 1 cm.
  24. The answer is not yew!
  25. Deny all knowledge of doing the job. If he was away how can he prove it was you? Trees? What trees?
