  1. Tracked mulchers are good but often don't go deep enough leaving stumps just below surface. What does he want to do with the site?
  2. Give it a good blow out. Could be a bit of woodchip jamming the throttle
  3. I have to confess I never took my pics but was sent them by a friend who wanted the id. I couldn't find it in any book that I have. Arbtalk may have nailed it in one!
  4. Shopping centre in Horsham.
  5. Are they genuine Schliesing or copies? I find the patent ones break whereas the genuine ones go on forever.
  6. Are they new? I'm interested
  7. I run a a hycrack on a 1960 MF 35 and it's perfect. It also runs my binderberger 20t splitter but can't lift it! Front weights would sort this though. I'm fairly confident it would run a 6" chipper ok too. Again, lifting would be the problem. Great little tractors
  8. Why bother. It means your Landy can't be used for anything else and you can't run it on red Diesal. I've seen a couple and they never really work properly.
  9. Used to have loads round us, now they just seem to pass through. They shoot loads in Malta and Cyprus every spring …
  10. Spoke to honey bros today and despite being 18 months old is still covered by warranty. Result!
  11. Yes, I meant 261. I really like them and it's the first one the lads pick up too. Sounds like a well known common problem and yes the crank is truly worn and oil pump gone exactly as spud says.
  12. I've got a 18 month old 260 which gets through needle bearings like no tomorrow. Close inspection shows very worn shaft. Oil pump now gone too. Apart from this runs like a dream. Hate to chuck out good runner but wondering if this was an economic repair
  13. If it's a single line going to a house it's really straight forward to take the wires out of the box. Sometimes there's a big loop pinned up somewhere and you can get enough slack to pull it out of the way. If it's a main line with hundreds of wires be very very careful although the are surprisingly robust.
  14. Go for a Schliesing. The best made (and most expensive) chipper on the market. The best long term investment you will make.
  15. I've got a whole stack of oversized trunks piling up (3ft up) and was wondering if anyone has used a cone splitter on this sort of size timber. I've got a jcb telehandler to run it
  16. I find a 4 or 9 inch grinder with sanding discs really effective and also really cheap. Planer thicknessers are great if you have money and are a professional
  17. We pay £1 per square foot of concrete for storing wood and chip. No rates, power or cover either.
  18. We got dipped in our Mog a few years back and we had a 4 hour interview with hmrc. Outcome was we were clear as I told them I was a forester (despite being a tree surgeon) and they could find no definition of forestry! It got quite heavy! Incidentally, our local national trust properties run all their mowers on white as its described as amenity.
  19. We bought a tempur super a few years back for the same reason at about the same money. I can't say it's cured my back but it's definitely worth the money as you get a much better nights sleep. Get the pillows too.
  20. I bought a Schliesing 235 in 1990 and used every day it hasn't broken down once except one starter motor and a couple of batteries. Starts every time. I have just bought a tracked 235. It's unbelievably good. More expensive than the opposition but worth every penny and will go on forever (I hope).
  21. Anyone used one of these torches? I'm looking to upgrade on an clulite. Vermin seems to be surrounding me these day!
  22. Just found one in Manchester, 28000 miles £12k same spec. I phoned the guys in aylesford and they promised a demo this week but they never got back to me.
  23. Small world Jay, I bet it was yours I saw on seal hollow road last week and I thought there goes a nice truck. Is it white and not sign written?
  24. Anybody out there running a grafter? I'm thinking of gutting one and was Just wondering what they are like. Or possibly a canter or a cabstar? Any comments gratefully received
  25. Does it do the rakes too? Or do we have to round again with a flat file?
