The winches them selves are pretty good for the money, its the solenoid pack that usually causes grief. Easily fixed by buying a solid state solenoid pack, which aren't very expensive these days (£40?).

I always put mine in on a slower spin speed as well, otherwise the misses goes mad when the washer starts walking across the kitchen floor.

Also the composite toe capped boots (instead of steel) are a waste of time, the chainsaw protection doesn't cover them (from what I've seen). And a chainsaw goes straight through the composite toe cap! A nice test video here [ame] [/ame]

I agree its certainly a bit pricey, especially if that's what the files are! Though being carbide I'd expect them to last for a long time. They look similar to carbide air grinder bits and they last for donkeys even when really abused spinning at 20k rpm

I've got roller doors on the full width tool box behind the cab and between the tipper on my iveco van, roller door each side. I often wonder how secure they'd be at stopping someone getting at my gear?

I use a lightweight aluminium scaffold platform that just clips together, I can easily reach up to 15 foot or more standing on it. It makes hedge jobs so much easier and I can stand under it and move the entire tower on my own quite easily.

I bet he does't make that mistake again! lol

Was the machine going over caused by too quick a movement on the levers or a flaw in the system, as suggested? Surely the speed it can move at full extension should be automatically limited to stop the machine been jerked around!

Did you fell it or piece it down? Looks like the crack had been there some time, was it quite soft in the middle?

I'm looking for a CS100 or similar portable 4" machine to hire in the Hull/East Riding area. Anyone know of anywhere that hires them in the area? I don't mind traveling 30 or so miles for one.

Could it have not been felled or dismantled without the crane? Just curious.
